So someone “hacked” his Twitter Source

But he isn’t in trouble because he’s an “ethical” hacker

Despite insistence from the White House and Twitter that there was no evidence of a hack, public prosecutors in the Netherlands confirmed details of an intrusion on Wednesday. The hacker, 44-year-old Victor Gevers, was facing potential jail time for accessing the president’s infamous social media account. But prosecutors said Gevers had acted in an “ethical” way by immediately disclosing what he had done to Dutch authorities.

Wow interesting. That's like a bank robber telling the judge that he had to do it because his kids are starving and the judge says, oh, okay.

The combination to open the Druidia air-shield's gate is 1-2-3-4-5. President Skroob is surprised to find that he has the same combination for his luggage! 'Spaceballs the Movie'

So a guy broke the law and also, most likely, the terms and conditions of that site. Then they let him off?

That hack was pre election too.
Pretty sure this guy should not get away with it.

Blame Dan Scavino. Still, if all that true including the 'password' which is just as careless as "Solarwinds123" passwd from last year. C'mon man, where's the Opsec! Chicoms & Russians must be laughing their asses off.

Is it a crime in the Netherlands to guess the US Presidents password to twitter?

What punishment fits the crime?

All he did is guess a really easy password. And then let authorities know. He shouldn't recieve any jail time. Better that we learned this than someone with malicious intent who uses the account to tweet out crazy stuff.

Apparently this wasnt the first time they guessed Trumps twitter password.
In 2016 it was 'yourefired'

But the dumbest thing is he never activated the 2 step verification on his twitter, even after is was exposed in 2016.
Btw the pw was 'maga2020' no caps, you 4D chess devil!

The best punishment is a sentence of a 2 year term living in the NY 14th Congressional District 😃

This is known as whitehat hacking, basically doing it to prove there is an issue. I dont think the guy should be punished, the damage to Trump could have been far worse. Imagine if you will he started posting some negative stuff. He could have. He should get a thank you and call it that. no need to turn a white hat dark.

I got a good chuckle from that.
