Say Hello To My New Little Friend

Hi! Wanna see some cuteness?
We just put a 24 hour hold on Valentino and plan on surprising the kids tomorrow with a new addition to our fam.
He'd be our first family pet, and I'm so thrilled!
Both the kids really love cats, and from the way the little guy snuggled into my puffy coat and started purring right away, I have a feeling that love will be of the requited variety.
Any advice about how to welcome a new kitty into a home?

Clean litter tray and a feliway always goes down a treat. Laser pointer and a dressing gown cord in a pinch. Lovely kitten. I hope he brings you much happiness and fills your ears with your delighted children’s joyful shrieks(sp?)

Great name. I tried to adopt a cat named Pete Schmidt, but someone beat me to it... Pete Schmidt is a power name for a cat for sure.
I think I like Valentino for this one, but we'll have to see when we get to know him and the kids should have a say.
I'm sure I'm in for some antics/trouble with this guy--
From what I saw, he was definitely the wildest of the bunch.

I got a dog last December from a rescue centre , Starving and like a concentration camp survivor bones every where and raw with being on a cold stone floor the name Chaos just did not suit him and he never even turned his head when it was said so Muttley and he is as daft as a brush but good fun

What a beautiful boy! I have a ginger kitty as well her name is Mara, She is 3 years old now, so not a kitten but she is small, I rescued her she had kittens very young which is why I think she is small for a kitty her age.

Enjoy and cherish and love and care for him every single second you get to be his people (I know you already know this). I just sent my main man of 15 years to doggie heaven. It was two weeks ago and I’m still crying like a baby on the daily. He was by my side for 15 years, and it just killed me to make that choice, but his kidneys were gone and I couldn’t let him suffer.



Pets are such a gift! Congratulations on your newest family member- I’m excited for your little silver tabby! Please keep us updated on what you name him and let us know how the kids react!

Aww, I am so sorry to hear about your little guy. It sounds (and looks, from that pic) like you both were blessed to have one another. You made the hard but loving choice.

I will definitely keep this thread updated with the kid's reactions and name etc
