completely agree. I've seen much worse happen to drunken assholes in the US. One time i saw my brother get dropped by a security guard and then taken to jail for the same reasons its sounds. My brother was underage at the time but was a huge asshole when they dragged him out a second time so they beat him up and took him to jail.

Standard practice.

otherwise your bar loses its license or pays a huge fine.

after refusing to leave a private venue.

What private venue? Are you on something? Or just wasting our time?

That's an employee of the establishment.

That's not socialism. It's Capitalism.

Lots of stars, but no clue to your point...lol

So, that's an excuse ? I work in a bar. If we treated someone like that, we'd be looking at civil suits for the next 10 years. "Rowdy" is no excuse to choke someone out and bounce their head off the floor.

....and yes, I've had to put people out the door. It was never like that.

Other parts of the world are different... Hard to say on 15 seconds...

it calls it that in the article,

Hotel management said the teenager was kicked out of the venue for being too rowdy but climbed a fence to get back in to his mates. When security noticed they shepherded him out - but the teen broke free, ran straight back to the bar and poured himself a schooner.
Melbourne teen 'knocked out' during brutal eviction from Croydon pub

in the states a venue can be any where something is happening, it appears that the same applies in the land down under.

example: The nightclub was the perfect venue for her performance.

all nightclubs, pubs, or bars that i know of or ever been in are privately owned.
hence private venue.

here in the states, on / in privately owned property such as bars you can be refused service and kicked out, then if you climb a fence and sneak back in once, then when escorted out the second time, break and run back in and pour yourself a tall one. lots of bouncers don't play dat. especially if your being rowdy they whoop your azz on the way out. and call the cops.

Thanks, he edit his post..makes sense...kind of...Most establishments are not in favor of the draconian approaches that is shutting them down. I wouldn't call it Socialism ..more Totalitarianism as what I been seeing.

Guilty Sir, I fixed the text once I was informed it was not mask related - socialism still sucks though.

The privately owned hotel/hostel/motel/Holiday Inn/chook crib/#hole the little bastard was refusing to vacate after ownership told him to leave the premises. Are you snorting our time, or just wasting our drugs by getting excitable over a statement of basic fact from a news article?

Fat bouncer chokes kid out and throws him out. Happened hundreds of times up and down the country at the weekend, (I live in UK) before COVID, but still happens at supermarkets in rough areas.

Although, the difference here is that he pushes a choked out person to the floor. Totally unnecessary act of violence.

But funny that this thread ends up with an Americian blaming socialism hahaha . So cliché

What on earth has this got to do with socialism?

The kid was being a knobhead....hopefully he'll learn from this.

I've spent far too much of my time in pubs.
And I've ran my own pubs.
I also had my own security firm once over and worked doors up to just before the coronavirus pandemic.
In addition I worked the odd shift behind the bar in a mates pub right up to January.

Although doormen now have to be badged we still operated more in line with the old school way of thinking.....that kid would have got a short, sharp lesson from which hopefully he would have learnt a lesson. Nothing too brutal, far from it.

Again, what has this got to do with socialism?
Seems to me some people are unhealthily obsessed with politicising anything and everything.

And how many on here defended the guy who was killed by "choking" by the police. DON'T SAY THAT WAS DIFERENT cos it aint. There were three, yes three security personnel there and they should had been able to handle it without violence. It's NO excuse to say "oh this is normal here" or "that's what you get by being a dickhead".
I could almost guarantee the big guy was showing off "look at me I can handle this idiot" and probably said to his mates "leave him to me " cos he was much, much larger and should have been strong enough to handle the youth (cos he WAS a youth) but it was look at me dealing with a trouble maker. He looked and acted like the BULLY he was.
