WA School District Classifies Asians as White.



So you see what they did there? In order to really drive home that disparity gap, they kicked Asians out of the People of Color category and moved them in with the Whites. LOL.

In other words, for the left, race is wholly dictated by outcome and not, you know, someone’s actual race. Makes sense, right? Of course, it does make sense to a left in this country which seeks to peddle grievance over literally every issue that exists. If Asians remain “people of color,” then that throws a big wrench in their preaching about inequities. We can’t have that, as the narrative of victim-hood and an inability to advance must be upheld at all costs.

Because Asians, despite their history of having been discriminated against, are a very successful group, even more so than many whites, if you leave them in the victim group - People of Color - they blow the curve out and make the disparity not as marked. So I guess they have to be moved in with us white folks. Now, not only are they bleached of their identity, but they're helping blow our curve. Remember that bit about Asian kids often being more successful than many whites?

So I guess the lesson here is that if the numbers don't say what you want them to say, you can just bleach a successful minority or two to help your argument out.

But that same district will still claim them as POC for their diversity scores/funding.

It is all about maintaining the narrative that POC are oppressed.

I live in a community where our school system is constantly harping on an achievement gap between blacks and whites at the public schools. They will twist themselves into all kinds of logic pretzels to avoid talking about culture and family structure as the root of the problem.

Keep in mind, this is a community where the high school has like a $100 million SURPLUS in funding. Black kids attend the same schools as white kids. The entire community is a liberal utopia full of diehard Democrats and open socialists / communist. Yet, when it comes to this topic, they still will cry about systematic racism. Of course, I am like systematic racisms from who? You libs run everything in this town!

They never want to dig into data on correlation between income, single parent homes, etc to outcomes because that would destroy their preconceived notions.

Folks round here don't take kindly to racism. I'm in the south and boy do you get your a$$ handed to you if you are sincerely being racist. We respect hard work, we don't give a hoot what ur skin looks like. a reply to: rickymouse

In Texas if you are Hispanic you have to check White on most forms. Some have white (non-Hispanic) check boxes. The left have gone insane with painting people in a box, and then have the audacity to claim the right is racist.

I’ve said it before, I wish people had to vote based off resumes instead of a D or an R with no picture to go with it. Can you imagine how hard the Dems would fall then? And we would probably wind up with a Libertarian President the way most normal people view issues nowadays.

All the crys of systematic racism are crap, yes, racism does exist, but if you don't marry someone of a different color, you are not a racist.

I'm kinda surprised they didn't lump Hispanics/Latinos, and Native Americans in there, too. Obviously, neither is dark or genetically different enough to be considered a minority anymore.

Oh, the point on this one isn't about melanin or lack of it. It's all about success in the group.

Asians made themselves too successful to be put in the category of people of color. If they were, then the disparity between whites and people of color that the school district wants to show wouldn't be as great because Asians as a group typically succeed academically (even though they do have a history of being treated with discrimination in this country like other people of color have had).

So to make sure that disparity gap remains as great as possible, the school district simply removed Asians from the People of Color category and lumped them in with Whites. Now, they aren't raising the People of Color up - they're actually helping to make the White folks look better.

Actually I'm Asian and it is actually how it works, and then some.
My daughter is in college but did not qualify for some scholarships because she was not the right type of Asian.
If you were from Korea/Japan etc you did not qualify, but Laos, Cambodia, Philippines was OK

This sort of thing is not new. It's taking place in New York with their exclusive academic high schools too. The complaint is that not enough disadvantage and underprivileged students are in them. The thing is that those high schools are by academic testing. You pass the test; you get in. The materials to study for the test are freely available. Any aspiring student can pick up the manuals and prepare for the test.

The method for admission by test is and has been called racist and yet the preponderance of students in those schools are Asian, not white. And most of those Asians qualify for financial assistance, so they are not wealthy. They get free and reduced lunches, things like that.

The main difference between those kids and the black and Latino students is that the Asians take advantage of the prep materials and study to get in.

But, you know, having so many Asians is "racist" because too many whites.
