I noticed a few years ago that I see faint objects moving as I move my eyes. From pictures I've seen, these objects look like strands of bacteria. I always see them, and I always have. I notice them mostly when I am not wearing contact lenses. Anyone have any idea what this is? All help will be appreciated.

I experience the exact same thing...

If I stare out at a wall.... I can see them moving... usually downward... I can then look up a little higher, they'll reappear and start to move downward again...

they are called floaters, they are dead skin cells your eyes has sloughed off

www.nei.nih.gov...

They could be a sign of potential problems, but generally they're nothing to worry about.

nope, its a natural process. Just like we slough off dead skin. It's normal

Just a heads-up. I’m going to move this thread to the Health & Wellness forum on BTS in just a moment.

I've got one myself....My good old faithful floater....lol

It's been there for about 2 years now....It drove me nuts for like the first week - Now I really only notice it if I'm feeling light-headed or when I have a bad migraine....

Seems to somehow also be related to weather - When it's really cold or hot outside, it'll be a little more pronounced....

Eventually they'll go away....Nothing to worry about though

Yup just dead skin / dust floating down the surface.
Something being persistant in place for 2 years tho I would be a bit concerned about.. sounds like a partially detached retina.

I will occasionally see a brilliant point of light a discernable distance from me.. usually 1-3meters. It is most often in my peripheral vision and usually disappears when I focus on it, but not always. Sometimes it will even move a few degrees across my field and leave a snake-like tracer behind it before disappearing. It is always a brilliant pinpoint of light so it is very hard to miss. A 'wiccan' girl I know suggested I have a fairy. I think it's just a hallucination thanks to my teenage years extracurricular activites.
