After 2016 I have very little faith in polls but the Dems will probably vote in record numbers so there is some chance Biden will win. Four years of
constant attacks and outright lies about Trump from the MSM does have a very real effect on how people think. The real question is has Trump managed
to win over more people than he has lost, I'm sure there's a lot of people choosing Trump simply to ease the Covid-19 restrictions and avoid higher
taxes.
However if Biden does win I would urge those on the right not to become discouraged, the left is going to get back power at some point because they
always do. Look at the history of leaders in almost any nation and you will see an alternating pattern to the parties in power. After realizing that
the elected party sucks, people switch back to the opposition party, and that continues so long as they elect career politicians from either party.
That is one of the main reasons I believe Trump appeals to a wide range of people, he's not an establishment politician and he rarely makes empty
promises just to get votes. Whereas politicians like Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are the very definition of status quo politicians. They have a long
history of enforcing laws which disproportionately affect minority communities but now suddenly they are the good guys who will be lenient and revise
those laws.
I think we can all agree Biden has always been a moderate, but now he's suddenly the cool hip guy who's willing to capitulate to the demands of the
far-left by adopting plans such as the "green new deal". It's a classic politician move, constantly flip flop so everyone hears what they want to
hear. Want fracking banned, you got it, but don't worry we wont really ban fracking, we're just going to slowly phase out all fossil fuels
completely.
Then we have Kamala and her most recent rant about equality of outcome, which is an argument saying we should all have the same amount of wealth
regardless of how much we contribute to society. It's a utopian pipe dream that always results in everyone being equally poor because it ignores very
basic economic principles and human nature. It's just pandering to the socialists who think the government should use taxes to redistribute wealth.
Biden even promised a cure to cancer if he became the President, there really is no lie too low for him. I even remember liberals mocked him for
making those statements a few months ago, probably because they were expecting Bernie Sanders or Andrew Yang to become the Dem frontrunner instead of
Biden. Also keep in mind Biden has a history of plagiarism and academic fraud. Electing a person so deceptive requires either deep hate or deep
ignorance.
In a way I am starting to understand the hate for Trump because I feel a similar way about politicians such as Biden and Hillary. To me they represent
the pinnacle of corrupt politicians, the type of deeply embedded power players that think they can screw over their citizens and the entire world for
their own personal gain. However it might be what is required for people to better understand why Trump is a good leader who fights hard for his
nation.
It could also help people understand why far-left policies can be so detrimental to the economy and erode freedoms. The U.S. is one of the few
remaining western nations that hasn't totally embraced ideas like "democratic socialism". As an outsider who has experienced these progressive
policies in action and has witnessed how destructive they can be to the economy and our way of life, it has motivated me to write about these issues
for many years on ATS.
I was hesitant to make this thread since I don't live in the U.S. and I know it can seem obnoxious when outsiders try to tell you how to run your
nation. However I'm not trying to change the minds of any Biden supporters because I know that is a pointless task at this point in time since most
people have already voted or made up their mind. This is more of a message for Trump supporters who may feel hopeless if Trump loses the election.
Even if Biden wins the presidency, keep in mind Pence can always do the exact same thing Biden did in the next election, after him we could also see
another Trump family member become president. People seem to think that after this election all the political drama will come to an end but I highly
doubt that will be the case. Obviously it would be better if we could all get along and sing songs together but that's just more utopian thinking.
People are always going to disagree on certain things, especially what political and/or economic framework is the best for society. Many of you may
say things like "it's just dumb partisan politics and you're playing right into it", but these are deep idealogical issues which have large
implications for the real world. At some point we have to decide which of those philosophies we adhere to, because the repercussions of not doing so
can be disastrous.
