Mafia Definitive Edition

Playing through the remake of "Mafia" and came across this little blighter atop one of the crane platforms in the "Don't Let Sergio Escape" level.

Stange sprite to come across in that area, wee fox holding a Lilly on a pillow with sticks/worms on it, anybody any idea???

Is it an Easter Egg or the like?

You can tell I'm bored.

I’m guessing that it’s a lotus flower. I don’t know what it means but more google searches come up when you use lotus instead of lily.
