No activity is risky

The virus is harmless

Catch it, you’ll be fine

Deferring your health care

This one just cropped up on my local news.

Some KC-area hospitals forced to turn away ambulances as COVID-19 hospitalizations climb

Scary-sounding headline isn't it? Oh no! COVID-19 cases are so bad that hospitals are overwhelmed! That's what they want you to think, but if you really read the story, here's the money quote:

Larsen said although the numbers remain steady, more people are coming into the hospital for delayed care.

“We’re seeing people that have deferred care, and therefore they may not have gotten in and gotten their prescriptions refilled,” Larsen said. “And that means that they have had things that potentially would have been treatable or preventable that now their symptoms have gotten worse that they end up having to seek emergency care and possible hospitalization.”

Did you pick that up? The hospital isn't overwhelmed with new COVID cases. They are being overwhelmed by people who deferred their care during the lock downs and pandemic scare. They let other health conditions that could have been and maybe should have been easily treatable get out of control and are thus now serious enough to merit hospitalization.

The hospital is being overrun as a result of one of the warned consequences of the lock downs.

So a risky activity is to defer your health care because you are scared of COVID-19.

I think a weekend of blow and whores with no mask or condoms is the riskiest...
