Donald Trump threatens Facebook, Twitter for limiting NYP Hunter Biden story

We're back to threatening private social platforms again I see? Shouldn't he be, you know, promoting second term policies or something?

It comes after both networks limited sharing of a New York Post story about Joe Biden’s son Hunter’s business dealings, over which questions have been raised about sourcing and accuracy.

The Trump campaign accused the social networks of bias, with the President fuming: "They closed down her account. She’s the White House press secretary.

"Because she’s reporting the truth, they closed down her account. So let’s see what’s going to happen."

It's the latest in a string of face-offs between Trump and social media firms - which he claims treat him unfairly and boost stories beneficial to his opponents.

But US law explicitly offers protection to private firms who remove content from their services which is objectionable or against their house rules.

The revelation itself is pretty lackluster in itself.

The source has been identified as repair-shop owner as John Paul Mac Isaac, an avid Trump supporter who couldn’t get his facts straight when reporters later questioned him about the timeline of events laid out in the Post’s story. This laptop was supposedly just 'left' at his store by an unidentified person.

The owner of the repair shop said that he wasn’t sure the laptop belonged to Hunter Biden.

The story is based on a photo of an email that Vadym Pozharskyi, an adviser to the board of Burisma, allegedly sent to Hunter Biden to “thank you for inviting me to DC and giving an opportunity to meet your father and spent [sic] some time together.” We have no way to verify that the email is authentic.

The Biden campaign says “no meeting, as alleged by the New York Post, ever took place” because it wasn’t on Biden’s schedule. Of course, that isn’t evidence a meeting didn’t occur — but the email (if authentic) isn’t evidence that a meeting did occur, either. The New York Post did not confirm that the meeting happened, and it’s unclear from the email if the meeting did occur. factCheck.org

Pretty disappointing for an October surprise, I know, but that doesn't give the president the right to wave his powers around against social media platforms.

There are freaking pictures of Biden with a crack pipe and the biden campaign is not denying it. Do you have proof that those are fake? the source is irrelevant do you have any proof to say the contents are fake? Has biden said those are fake?

If a telecommunications carrier can't censor what websites you see or prioritize some sites over others why should the social media companies be able to do it?

Just checked webster dictionary and they changed the definition of methpipe to a pipe that allows one to become enlighten gentleman and able to run billion dollar company with no experience.

I have a problem with companies doing bad things.

I also have a problem with baseless accusations, especially at election time, for political purposes.

You're pushing the latter, evidently.

Most Americans will not know of this story until ABC-CBS-NBC-CNN-NYT-WaPo reports it anyway. They're keeping a lid on it, but the pressure is building. Only the tip of the iceberg has been revealed thus far.
