You are applying logic to protestors who only want chaos and to tear down the establishment. They have no plans to rebuild it they just want it destroyed.

I don’t think it is about anyone. It is about destruction and chaos, and until they are stopped it will continue

It is about creating space for new construction,
ideological construction.
(progressive whateveritis virtue slabs)

Just as land is restored lot by lot,
after each war.

First step is to destroy.

Even in death, Abe is still getting attacked from behind.

Well, duh, he has was dirty Republican. Someone shot him, and he probably had it coming for all the racist things he did.

Well the man did betray his Oath to the constitution by ignoring the 10th amendment. One good deed does not erase his betrayal of his oath even if it was for a good reason. He was shot as per how traitors are to be executed. Not trying to defend slavery, but the law at the time was clear. They later illegally amended the 10th to keep states from leaving anymore. So much for law and order.

They should troll these guys: erect a statue of Lenin/Mao, but miss-label it as some hero from American history. Then LOL at them when they knock down one of their idols in their "Day of Rage".

What are the bets on inability of most of these knuckle draggers to actually discern the actual history and context behind the monuments they're destroying?

Somebody directs the mob to knock over some statue, and they blindly follow.

Our legacy of conservation and national parks owe their existence to Teddy too. I thought these people were all about the Green Nude Eel thing.

Wrong, dude, pick up a history book, Teddy Roosevelt pretty much invented modern progressivism. Just like the Democrat Party has to deal with it's slave-owning past the Republicans get to put a check mark in their history next to 'We created Progressivism'.

Well he was part of the Republican party and looking over his policies and actions as president it's kind of hard for me to say he is progressive by today's standards. He was pretty progressive for the time though I'll give you that. Not sure, after reading a few pages worth of policy summaries and biographical bits, that I disagree with any of his policies though. The man also could have run for a third term legally and the majority of people at the time actually wanted him to because he was so well liked, but he refused citing the tradition that no president even in colonial times ever served more than 2 terms. He thought it important to keep that tradition which shows his character to me.

So I guess you are right in that he was progressive. Franklin though was progressive and socialist and espouses more of today's left than Teddy could have dreamed to.

Pretty much. Even here in Canada, when I was in school for ecosystem management, we learned about ole Teddy, though, a big part of it was because he liked hunting.

Still, I gave a presentation on him one day myself. We had to pick one prominent historical conservationist. I picked him, I got top marks. We gave presentations every other week or so, that's still one of my favourite ones. I really went all out.

Roosevelt really did do a lot for conservation and America's national park system and I gotta say, America's national parks really are some of the most beautiful out there. Gotta give credit where credit's due.

Yellowstone's still probably one of the most amazing places i've been to in my life and that was in winter when half the park was closed.

You should post some local pics.
So those not there can see how bad it truly is.
And show what is being supported by the dems.

The thing is, I'd have to go there to take the pictures.

I avoid downtown like the plague!
