You're right-- he acts like a total brat. He walked off the court yesterday with 10 seconds left in the game cause he was mad they lost.

I did like that he financed a scholarship fund to open a school in his hometown, but that's about it.

He really is pulling the sport down with his big mouth and entitled behavior. I can agree with that.

I glanced at part of the Lakers vs Heat last night. I don't think anyone was in the stands. Same stupid "crowd" sounds as the Bears games. Ridiculous.

Most people have found family things to do, thanks to the Wuhan Flu.

The Pumpkin Patch/Amusement Park for kiddies was packed.

Perhaps because all the games have been played at a central location WITH NO ACTUAL FANS IN ATTENDANCE?
LOL

You do realize ALL of the nba personell have been in a "bubble" for the finish of their season and playoffs?

Couldn't be that Miami players Bam Adebayo and Goran Dragic were injured, and with them any hope of a real challenge from Miami?
No
That couldn't be it......
Has to be the black thing right?

Its not unusual to have swings in the ratings from year to year. 15 to 20 percent even depending on what teams are playing and what else is going on...

68 percent though....
It has to be more...

These rating drops are also a stinging reality check against the league's poster boy, Lebron James. We are to believe he is the greatest ever? Not only does he lack the stats of Jordan, he utterly fails to produce the ratings like Jordan. If this was 1992 and COVID hit, Jordan would have been commanding the highest viewership numbers ever by playing like Superman, not driving viewers away by incessantly talking like a dumbass like Labron seems to constantly do.

Jordan FAMOUSLY stayed away from ANYTHING controversial.

Yeah
The already underdog heat lost 2 starters.
This series is in no way in doubt.

Full disclosure: I never was much of a sports fan, just a little football. But, wtf is a bubble and why am I just now hearing about it?

This suggests the American public has had it with BLM/race baiting, to the point of abandonning viewing in FINALS. It also implies fatigue with anyone else, like Democrats, pushing this anti-American narrative.

Epic landslide in November...

Everyone, players, coaches, trainers, ect have been at a hotel complex in orlando.
Quarentine to get in ect.
So they could "safely" finish the season.

The nhl did something similar.

NFL close behind thank god.

I have an old T-shirt from back when Detroit hosted SuperBowl XL. With all this crap about the players disrespecting the national anthem, I don't think I'll ever wear that shirt in public again. I may even throw it away.

Then again, the way things are going we may start to see some of the less popular teams go bankrupt soon. It may become a collector's item in the next few years.

The other main issue with the NBA ratings down is the product. The basketball being played is not entertaining unless you like no defense and offenses based around isolation plays and one on one schemes.

The quality of basketball has dropped pretty fast since rule changes in the past several years and the lack of many quality players coming into the league. There are too many young players that leave early to chase the money that never amount to anything In the league. Meanwhile the college game is stripped of players and the cycle continues. Politics aside the NBAs product was going downhill anyway

Also, I won't be watching the SuperBowl this winter. Doesn't matter who the teams end up being.

Who would have thought overtly pro-Chinese Anti-America agitprop in sports entertainment would be unpopular with Americans?

What an absolute shocker. Unprecedented, really.

I tolerated James' political comments in the past because, let's face it, they are the comments of an uneducated, barely literate parvenu who frequently spoke without having any understanding of what he was saying or giving any thought to it. The man is clearly a political dumbass hack. When he became utterly intolerable was when he went after the Rocket's GM for supporting Hong Kong independence. At that point it was clear "OK, "Bron" knows who owns him and he's willing to do whatever it takes to defend his masters... and that master isn't American, so "Bron" can go to hell."
