Do you have unprotected sex with strangers without condoms? It's the same principle. Think of a mask as a preventative measure to covid.

Not always! In this case I'm laughing AT yours.
We detected coronavirus in respiratory droplets and aerosols in 3 of 10 (30%) and 4 of 10 (40%) of the samples collected without face masks, respectively, but did not detect any virus in respiratory droplets or aerosols collected from participants wearing face masks, this difference was significant in aerosols and showed a trend toward reduced detection in respiratory droplets

CNN says masks no longer work. We can now take them off unless required by law.

The only thing I'm telling you is the truth.
No, you're really not. What you're saying is that you are placing your own personal political ideology above the best medical advice out there. Politics over science and common sense in other words. Sheesh.
Tell me, Trump scorned facemasks as well. Where is he now again?
We’ve learned that as many as 40% of people infected with the virus that causes COVID-19 may have no symptoms. But when they talk, cough or sneeze, they can still spread the virus to others in the form of respiratory droplets expelled into the air. Those droplets evaporate into fine particles that may linger. The mask traps these larger droplets before they can evaporate.
Atop World Health Organization official clarified on Tuesday that scientists have not determined yet how frequently people with asymptomatic cases of Covid-19 pass the disease on to others, a day after suggesting that such spread is “very rare.”

That is certainly a red star! I stand corrected. However in my neck of the woods all the Wal-Mart's signs are blue without the star. Never liked to shop there maybe that's why I'm so so ignorant.
