Trump is NOT on a ventilator! He was talking with McConnel earlier today. People on ventilators don't talk to anyone. They don't talk, period.

FAKE NEWS!! (again).

99.5% of the MSM doesn't know what a "ventilator" is, and often confuse it for a "respirator" which are completely different. They do it on purpose...both sides. A ventilator is a breathing device which involves intubation (i.e. sticking a breathing tube down the trachea), and pumping air into the lungs. A respirator can be as simple as a mask, or a face shield which provides positive air flow. The two are completely different!

Generally speaking, to put people on a "ventilator" you have to put them into an induced coma, because the natural instinct is to fight the entire process, including the breathing part. Trump is NOT on a ventilator!

That is just BS FAKE NEWS!!!

IF Trump was on a "ventilator" (and he's not), there would be a transfer of power to Pence (which there hasn't been), because then a president would not be able to carry out his duties as president.

Silly rabbits!!

Trump is NOT on a ventilator! PERIOD!

ETA - Don't be an idiot!

My President is strong! He'll survive.

I hope you're right but My President is in the at risk group , his age , pre-existing medical conditions and weight are of concern , I would be surprised if he sails through this , expect bumps.

How is Boris ?

Furthermore, I worry about Trumps health, but candidly I also worry about Biden's, almost more.

I don't want to see EITHER candidate come down with a dangerous malady, and I especially worry about Biden. No good is served by Biden becoming sick (or worse). Biden is far from my most favorite person in the world, but I don't wish a deadly illness on him or his family (unlike the democrats on Trump). Biden may be a slippery politician, but I don't wish any man dead, not ever. (Well, maybe a couple truly evil people, but not these two).

Joe Biden is a frail man, and I have often opined here lately about why he is even running. It's like he's being forced to, because when I look in his eyes I just don't see it. It's not in him. He's doing it for someone else, but who is the question.

In any case, Joe Biden is a human, and I don't want him to drop down in illness (or worse) any more than I want Trump to.

If we here were all of good mind and sound spirit, we would be wishing the same.

That is all.

Now, from unnamed sources

Named sources are those stating he is doing well, unnamed sources are saying the opposite. Whose asses are displayed for flogging if their claims prove untrue? Unnamed sources aren't worth a damn, IMO.

Not for nuthin, but those stories have not been confirmed and there's no video of Meadows saying this 😃

I'm just looking forward to when the left MSM begin floating super conspiracy theories that Trump has been replaced by a look-a-like.....full retard....

Kind of like how entire threads were created discussing Hillary’s body double when she came down with pneumonia (and Trump ruthlessly mocked her when it happened)? The nerve of the damn hypothetical left!

Being given (administered) supplemental oxygen is NOT the same as being on a "ventilator".

Administration of oxygen is a common thing with a low oximeter reading. (former EMT)

ETA - Generally anything lower than a 90% oximeter reading will result in supplemental oxygen being administered in a rescue/emergency situation.

Pence too. I'm worried about him.

Sometimes I just wish both campaigns would take it safe and easy. The vast majority of voters have decided. Swaying the handful isn't worth the risk.

Surgery too. It was just a mouth and nose mask, not a ventilator. Took a while for that before they put me under for a surgery.

As a European socialist with some hope in progress I hated Trumps' policies and decisions. I loved him for his denial to go to war, although even that had very unfortunate outcomes (the neglection of the Kurds, Hello Erdogan, red carpet Poetin). Now he has Covid, and yes I tempted to say: 'he had it coming', but I do want him to recover and run his tour, to be defeated in a fair election. Which the Americans are already unable and /orunwilling to realise. How about that US two party war-democracy?
edit on 3-10-2020 by Spinoza73 because: Added: examples of unfortunate outcomes. Trump admires authoritarian leaders and seems to have financial reasons to be friendly to some of them.

If his vitals are stable he is fine

And O2 means nothing. He is POTUS. Is his O2 gets below 96% they’ll prolly make him wear it...which is kinda silly.

Well he did promise us a beautiful vaccine before the elections.

There are rumors that Trump is more seriously ill than officially presented.

In a statement a few hours ago it was said that the president was "very well", his "vital functions so far normal" - the doctors were "very satisfied with his recovery process".

Now, from unnamed sources, his condition is said to be very worrying and that the next 72 hours will be crucial. The president was ventilated with oxygen, which indicates a rather difficult course of the disease.

What does the ATS community think? Is something going on here?

I hope for Trump and his family that the rumors are not true. May he get well soon.

I will say that if he dies, then maybe we can start believing the reports of how the hydroclowhatever simply doesn't work and its snake oil?
doubt it..some people will die on the most stupid of hills, but meh..maybe a few might be swayed into the realm of science.

Been mentioned a million times it wasn't a cure it just supposedly made the symptoms less severe. If you google search you can find Doctors reports in Asia long before the madness here saying exactly that.

Some believed it to be a cure.

Just curious, why would you say O2 means nothing? AFAIK that is the #1 vital sign they are monitoring COVID patients for in terms of their level of danger (being as how this virus mainly attacks through the respiratory system). Or are you saying that it's easy to just give him a respirator and intubate/ventilate if that doesn't work? IMO O2 sat is incredibly important to know if patient is adequately breathing or needs additional treatment, and as I said earlier, CO2 buildup will also be a warning sign (if patient can adequately remove CO2 from lungs they can and will asphyxiate)

It got down to 93% and he wore O2 for a while and it was back to 96% and stable. He has no problem breathing or talking...Feels good over all, so he looks like the typical 1 day of a small fever and after two days people are feeling find.

I wonder if he lost his sense of smell too, which is very common to happen for about 5 days.
