Been a member of ATS for a long time. The right wing extremists have taken over this site. They are the troll army. I'm 44 and I have health problems so does my entire family. I worked in a factory sucking in nasty fumes all day and it wrecked my lungs. It down right pisses me off when people don't take this serious. Two of my moms coworkers died from it and I know someone else that died.

Only a political fanatic would still reduce this topic into a left vs right political mud-pit.
What I despise about most corona hysteria fans is that they truly believe that the 99% has to suffer, so that they can feel a little safer. If they have ruined their health with bad career choices or bad living habits, then everyone else has to suffer now to keep them safe. Taking responsibility for your own choices in life is not an option.
That is not how quarantines should work. You isolate the unhealthy minority from the healthy majority, not the other way around. If you isolate the healthy majority, then there soon won't be any resources left to support the unhealthy minority anyway, but it seems better to them that everyone should suffer. They are like spoiled little brats that just demand the world to revolve around them.
Everyone has a free choice to quit work, sit at home in fear and wear even 10 masks if they want. But no, that is not enough for them, they need everyone else to feel the same fear and face the same troubles, just so they could feel more normal themselves.

Sorry I hate to tell you but you can be a marathon runner and still die from it. I believe in doing whats best for the greater good of society. I'll make the sacrifice and wear the mask. I worry about it but chances are it wouldn't kill me. It's a roll of the dice. I'm sorry you feel so inconvenienced about the mask thing but experts are saying if we were all wearing masks cases would drop. I put others before myself out of respect for them. It would bother my conscience if I had unknowingly and people got sick because I didn't take precautions around them.

Sorry, I hate to tell you, but you could venture out to your place of employment tomorrow and get hit by a bus and die. Part of being alive is the understanding that we are all going to pass on from this mortal coil at some point.

If you are so concerned about infecting other folks, what did you do in the past to prevent that from happening? If you had elders in your life, and you had the flu, you were likely a reason that they got irrevocably sick.

Look at the numbers from the CDC. The odds of you dying from COVID are minimal. Professional sports have resumed, had COVID cases, and re-resumed within days. That's the point you seem to be missing: COVID is real, but is not the end-all-be-all destroyer of humanity.

I wear my mask, I wash my hands, and I avoid people at a six foot distance. And, I think the overreaction to all of this is bullish!t. Period.

I don't wear a mask, but I have no problem with individuals wearing masks if they like.

My objection is to those who want the government to mandate masks.

I've been a bit of a germaphobic my whole life, washing hands and such from a young age.

Plandemic is the best description of our current situation.

Are you making a sacrifice for the good of society by wearing a mask, or just kidding yourself, engaging in a warm fuzzy feeling of false security?
