Corporations are structured much like a communistic bureaucratic apparatus. The only question becomes which entity consumes the other.

In China, the state is the business. In the West, it may turn out the other way.

But get few enough entities either way, and it all ends up the same. They own it all and you exist in their structure.

So... what’s a stock? You know, those things you can buy.. freely... between the hours of 9:30 AM and 4:00 PM ET most week days...

A stock is an ownership share of a company.

You can now buy “slices” of a stock for 5 dollars... literally.

The barrier to entry is so low that at this point literally no one has an excuse to not buy shares.

And when you do, those “privileged few” are now working for you. And you get to profit off them for doing basically nothing yourself.

Yeah they do - two ways. Voting rights and capital flight.

Tank the share price and stop buying their goods? Doesn’t work out well for the elites you are all railing against.

You’re as powerless as you think you are in this situation. Does most everyone have limitations? Oh yeah - everyone does in various capacities - but that isn’t to say you’re going to throw your weight around like Bezos.

You do, however, have the ability to profit off of them, enhance your life, teach others to do so and in the process become less “dependent” on these elites.

If any of you have, or are willing, to take the time to go actually learn about capital markets, economics, taxation, estate planning, corporate structures, investment banking/VC, etc. to get how the game actually works - which since you can post here you can do since you can read - you’ll instead say “it’s rigged” and turn it into the devil you know.

Because short of a lottery ticket If you can’t speak the language of business or money then you’ll forever hate those who do - even though you can just as easily pick up a book and figure it out yourself.

I witnessed first hand what happens when people have small amounts of stocks and shares etc.....they all ended up in the hands of major corporations - mainly French and German - and as a result almost every single utility in the UK is now privately owned.....by a privileged few.

Very small investors are only interested in very small profits and will cash out very early.

Not at all.
The government sold off the government owned utility companies to 'the people' - which they already owned.
These small investors made a little bit of many very quickly and sold their shares on.

Literally all utility companies are now owned by foreign companies with just a privileged few large share owners.

I think only water is publicly owned in scotland , everything else is private

we need to take by ownership of the utilities

before its too late

but the internal markets bill will probably make this happen privitise everything

Corporations don’t care about individuals... it’s about the greater goal of the company. One goal, one company, unified power.

Nationalisation is a dirty word nowadays.

Personally I'd re-nationalise every single one of our utilities along with rail services - maybe all public transport - andmaybe even The Royal Mail.

But, and its a massive big #ing BUT, I'd make sure they were run exactly the same as efficient modern day private companies yet with transparency and public oversight.

I won't be holding my breath though as I can't see it happening any time soon.

Individuals care about individuals, thankfully. Which is why putting as much sovereign power in the hands of the individual is so crucial. It prevents large groups of # morons making decisions that impact my life

The wealthy do get tax breaks for charitable giving so it’s not really that they are nice.

Thats just socialism. State run is not better than private run.
By the way, US Postal workers were told to mark time stamps on mail in ballots on Nov 3 even if they came in later. That’s a gov run facility committing election fraud deliberately.
