They dont speak for me either, but I do feel its reasonable.. even prudent.. to consider that they absolutely speak for themselves. Particularly when considering that what most people erroneously call "the left" nowadays is more of a social group that trusts mainstream media. Media-ites? With respects to capitalism, I believe we can do better than we are. Particularly leveraging modern technology to achieve unimaginable things.

However, spending time debating that reasonably is more than a little out of place, in my opinion. We are talking about a group that has been displaying increasingly zealous and extreme rhetoric, based on tearing everything down quite literally and openly. All predicated on manufactured Narratives and "righteous" causes.

Its what this religion has done from day 1: hijack all idealism or notions of progress/change, then weaponize it for their own obfuscated ends.

Those that believe to varying degrees that capitalism, or even corporatism, can be improved upon will slowly be absorbed into the social momentum created by relentless information and marketing.

It eventually becomes a battle of those fighting for no changes whatsoever against those who want everything torn down. All the while, many outside that fight will be occupied with everything from saying "these people dont speak for me" to philosophical takes on capitalism. The former isnt some snarky judgment, btw, these people that so many still call "the left" sure as hell dont speak for me either! Thats not particularly relevant when they absolutely do speak for many though. The actual numbers required are not nearly as large as one might expect to be exceptionally detrimental.

Beyond all that, I find that what many do is use the opportunity to point out the imperfections and flaws in capitalism and corporatism, or their modern incarnations. Normally, not exactly a "bad" thing, but more than a little silly in current context. It also creates a sort of social momentum that can be directed to the same ends as those that wish to tear it all down.

Those that wish to "dismantle the system of oppression" tend to be communists on the surface, but what they will actually usher in (should this all go according to certain plans..) will make even the horrors of communism look like utopia.

I am usually considered "right". Righties will appropriately point out that I am more aligned with classical Democrat ideals, for the most part (i abhor abortion, and there are a couple of other deviating points).

I consider myself libertarian, although the libertarians will shout me down for supporting stuff like medicare. I just don't want old people to suffer when we can help them out.

But in modern terms, im absolutely a "rightie" because I think all news outlets are completely full of #. Honestly, there just aren't any that I trust.

The corporatism is part of communism where the worker is the slave to the gov corporation. Some of the Oligarchs were ousted if they were friendly to the Emperor's family. Some where needed to help the fledgling Soviet corporation enslave the people and make products and work farms. The incentive was to be allowed to live and maybe in a bit of luxury if they played their cards right. So, the system collapsed when you couldn't get ahead unless you were an inner circle commie.

I cant think of a single media source that is trustworthy either.

I like to make the distinction between "press" and "journalism" versus "media" though. For many decades, the media provided an (arguably) necessary aggregate and middle-man to bring the work of the press and journalists into our homes.

That media middle-man has long since become obsolete when we can interact with and view the work of press and journalists directly. The real press/journalists, of course.

So, many adjusted and simply went to journalists directly, supporting their work directly. Commentary became a "thing" too, for better or worse.

What most point out as this divide between right and left is really a conflict between those that trust and imbibe an obsolete news medium that has grown increasingly extreme in its methods, and those that dont. I think what confuses the issue the most is that this was tied into the democratic party directly. But, as far as I can remember, democrats have only ever paid lip service to all ideals & beliefs that typically identify the social/political "left." The way they do it tends to be more damaging to those ideals & goals than direct opposition. Subjects like environmentalism show the real world results of that duplicitous approach. Stuff like the green new deal is how they monetize and corporatize such aspects. It dominates the conversation and has little to do with how its marketed to us.

Quite a few call it "left vs right," but I think its more about those who trust an increasingly disconnected, deceptive, radicalized media and.. everyone else.

I believe it would be very beneficial to stop viewing it in terms of "left" vs "right." In the current social & cultural construct, they are about as relevant/accurate as cries of "racism."

Part of that, though, would be for those of us who lean towards the left traditionally to understand that most of what is being spoken about doesnt apply. In the current paradigm, anyone who goes against the media Narrative is considered the "right."

When we look at how events led to where we are now, it makes sense that the social groups are distinguished according to pre-existing paradigms. But for anyone on the "left" that doesnt buy into the increasingly extreme rhetoric, all those criticisms are not directed at us and those that do criticise it are not automatically on the "right." The radicals dont speak for us, but its important to understand that the "silent majority" doesnt speak for the extremists either. In other words, its far too common to make the mistake that because "I" have reasonable opinions and approach, that the same applies to my "side." Particularly when the "sides" are not defined by the words that most use to describe or perceive them. This assumption and confusion is exploited heavily by the corporate-political apparatus.

Given what we have seen from real journalists, media deception, legal system corruption (DAs..), and a social movement (Woke Church) that flirts with fighting a Holy War more and more.. Im inclined to take the situation quite seriously.
