This debate was two old guys arguing over a seat at McDonalds.

The only difference is that one won't raise our taxes and the other is a pants-pissing Marxist asshole.

Bit of a reflection of the world I think. I used to be able to have some pretty long and heated debates on some online forums back in the day. And it would still end in mutual respect, maybe some minds were changed, or at the very least some thoughts provoked. It's not really like that anymore.

My wife said Trump needs to talk directly to the camera to connect to the people. I pointed out Biden only did that when things were getting uncomfortable for him and he wanted to derail Trump's responses.

If you’re not use to seeing Trump like this, then perhaps you need more exposure.

What you’re really saying is, Biden was WEAK and Trump took charged and dominated, sometimes UGLY, sometimes PRETTY, but he remained TRUMP while doing so.

Independents and Moderates want a foundation and if that means dominating ugly and pretty and not looking weak like Biden, I think they’ll make that jump, just by look at the economy pre COVID and the Acknowledgment that the Economy is rebounding quickly post COVID, the “V” shape recovery model.

I am the independent you are talking about. Voted strait libertarian 2018.

I have watched most of Trumps recent "protests" and enjoyed them.

Independents, like me, want something different than the normal Republican/Democrat lock step duality that has been destroying our wonderful nation.

Trump has done that wonderfully, and I am glad I voted for him in 2016. I HATED voting for him them as I've always disliked the man.

I have liked his decisions in office more than any president in my lifetime. And for that reason I will vote for him again.

So don't dismiss my view so quickly.

I had to sign up to go to college. Now mine wasn’t typical but I did wear a wool uniform pattered on a West Point cadet’s jacket and had to engage in night maneuvers with some mixed branches of ROTC. Even my roomie was Navy. The whole experience was weird, I was the only one on the whole dorm floor that wasn’t an engineer or ROTC of some sort.

To me, Biden looked like a whimp trying to act tough, not a bully.

Trump does look like a pro taking punches from both Media and Biden. His fight is more with media than Biden.

Wallace looked like he was trying to be independent but sided with Biden.

Trump commands respect at his "protests" and I enjoy watching them, but tonight made me remember the Trump I disliked and barely voted for.

I think they both lost with Independents.

I'm decided I will vote for Trump. I think other independents will vote based on anti, not for after this debate. Meaning against Trump or against Biden. I don't think either swayed votes. And booth stumbled defending their bases.

Wasn’t from a lack of trying. Just that there were a few Democrats that still supported the US back then. Unlike today’s batch of scum and villainy that commit three acts of larceny every day just to stay alive by preventing the devil from claiming their souls.

This is the reason I can not vote Democrat for the foreseeable future.

I can hold my nose and vote for republicans.

I will actually enjoy voting for Trump.

Trump didn't play to his biggest wins in my view.

I think he could have won more independents had he stayed more positive and pointed out all the wins in his presidency like he does at his rallies, er.. protests...

That is his strength. Not bullying.

He has done more that I approve of, and the media doesn't even cover, than any other President in my lifetime. He should point out those achievements, how they media won't cover them, and be more positive.

He is the first President not to get us into a war in my lifetime! YES!... and harp up the economy the way he does in his rallies. He sounded petulant talking about it tonight.

He needs to have a rally of a debate, not a slugfest! Let then see the positive and be Presidential.

Definitely, pretty obvious.

Trump, human as he is; I love how he bites back and
is fiercely defensive of the economy that is powered by
the average person. That is one of his best qualities,
goes to bat head to toe and will not back down.

I can also appreciate that he is still willing to defend
our country after what he has been through. The
unprecedented attacks would have killed off most
others, the fact that he is still standing in office
speaks volume to his strength and willingness to endure
continuous professional and personal attacks while
he stands tall and defends this country.

There is a part of me that thought that Trump was sizing Biden up for the next debates.

Another issue, and this isn't at Wallace in particular, but I really wish these debates weren't moderated by newsmen anymore. It's obvious that their ego's are pretty large for some reason. Not sure why with the ratings they get.

Let's do the Joe Rogan sit down as proposed. We would all learn so much more than we get out of these debates.

Fair enough and I certainly won’t dismiss you view, if you noticed, I took a decent respectable approach to your post.

You certainly make valid points.

I’m just trying to reiterate that Trumps behavior hasn’t changed since 2016. If we had a debate next week or next month, it’s Trump again, the same as we saw tonight. This is expected and what we know of Trump. The American people are still rightfully angry with Big Gov, fours years isn’t a whole lot of time to make for people to change, in fact many of them will say, “it feels like 2016 again”.
