You down for wear'n a mask for the rest of life?

No

Or do you disagree that's what they want.

Yes , I disagree.

In which case
you just may be the idiot.

I maybe but I work for the National Health Service and understand why wearing masks is necessary.

I may not agree with all of the decisions being made but think it is up to us to help save our economy by doing minor stuff like wearing face masks , with a No deal Brexit looming we are facing serious financial problems if we can't control the spread of the virus.

The cops are deescalating. They removed their helmets.
They should join the demonstration. That would be awesome!

Only people i know panicked are related to someone already dying or just went through chemo. Everyone else is either a complete authoritarian democrat lunatic or couldnt be bothered by covid.

i am on drugs classified as "chemo". 2 of them. I don't find myself panicked.

although if it was actual chemo, and not biologics, i likely would be more concerned than I am.

This is feeling like a global fight for freedom at this point. I run a pretty nice resort hotel in texas hill country. We have been selling out every weekend with city folks trying to find some normal in their lives again.

Reports that David Icke has just had a heart attack,

Unconfirmed,

I had to look up the name. In case others are wondering too: en.wikipedia.org...

You've been a member here since 2007, and you didn't know who David Icke is?

Do you even ATS, Bro?

Lol

you would have to fly into dallas or austin to get here. Then drive for a bit. No shuttles or anything.

Most of our business comes from folks driving in from DFW, Austin, and Houston to get away.

I was thinking of going to either Austin or Napa, maybe Sante Fe. Trying to figure it out now.

Our water cooler guy showed up at the house the other day as I was
about to leave. He jumped out dawned his mask and grabbed a 5
gallon bottle. I stepped out of my truck and yelled, " Hey! you
aren't allowed to wear that GD thing around here!". He set the bottle
down and was so glad to take it off in the hundred degree heat.

Then I almost felt bad for him so I made a joke about "Poor guy doesn't
know what to do from house to house". All he said back was the customer
is always right sir.

I laughed and said," Now days that's only when it's door to door" . lol

Cool guy he stuck around and was very like minded. Made me late for
auto zone. They close at 2 in the afternoon.

It wasn't lost on me that as soon as people began protesting the lockdowns, the killing of George Floyd happened. That event took everyone's attention away from what we should REALLY be protesting. Now we've got the BLM protests. Nothing but a distraction.

I don't trust Icke AT ALL. Years ago, it used to be that I didn't believe him at all but now, I think he's controlled opposition and mixes truth with bull#hit.
I also think he's being used as someone who can discredit a whole protest because he's known as the crazy "REPTILIANS ARE AMONG US" guy.

Has Icke had a heart attack? Any one heard of his condition?

I myself have seen some scary Sh#t that makes me think he's
not so crazy. I would go along with melodramatic but not
crazy. Not at all.

The facts are masks help stop the threat transmission and infection , the idea behind wearing masks is not to stop the virus but slow its transmission so as not to overstretch the NHS , clinics have only been starting up again in the last few weeks so patients can get treatment for their conditions , if the hospitalization rate increases again those clinics will have to close as staff will be shifted to the wards.

The idiocy is not understanding that.

But i do all I care to do here in Texas. Mostly eat and drink, but thats because im fat and old. I may also wallow in a river tube from time to time.

I love travelling.
Been all over Europe and most parts of the UK.

The one consistent thing; people are people no matter where you go.
Sure, we have our idiosyncracies and local customs etc but the vast majority of us have the same cares and concerns and given the chance get along just fine.

Something we seem to have forgotten.

Fat and old?
You sound like me!

I agree completely with this statement, we don't have to agree with everything else thats going on, or the mess a lot of the worlds governments are making of this, but here slowing the spread can only help the NHS.

people are the same. And the most genuine interactions usually happen in the most dive places you can imagine. One of the best time I have ever had was sitting in a bar at Tunks in Alexandria, LA in the early 2000's. Didn't know anyone there, but you'd never know that by watching us that evening.

I've never thought you were the stereotypical American.

Which is the only state you haven't been to?
I'll guess Alaska?

I've never been to the US, always fancied it but not the 'touristy' thing.

During lockdown me and a mate were talking and we both said we'd love to go there and we have tentatively agreed on a four week trip, open train ticket with plenty of stop off's experiencing 'the real America'.
It may happen next year but a more realistic date is some time in 2022.
