Some interesting news this morning..

New York City was among three cities labeled “anarchist jurisdictions” by the Justice Department on Sunday and targeted to lose federal money for failing to control protesters and defunding cops, The Post has learned.

Portland, Ore., and Seattle, Wash., were the other two cities on the list, which was approved by US Attorney General William Barr.

“When state and local leaders impede their own law enforcement officers and agencies from doing their jobs, it endangers innocent citizens who deserve to be protected, including those who are trying to peacefully assemble and protest,” Barr said in a statement set to be released Monday.

“We cannot allow federal tax dollars to be wasted when the safety of the citizenry hangs in the balance,’’ the AG added.

This is a significant development. Sure, it will be challenged in court, But with Trump about to name a new Justice, this could be a game changer.
Makes me wonder if the Trump Admin knew Roberts would side with the liberal justices, therefore couldn't use this tool until now?

'Anarchist Jurisdiction'
That should do wonders for property values.

Heck with the property values, imagine the insurance rate hikes?
If I had stock in Insurance companies I would be salivating right now

The Feds give money for law enforcement, if they defund the cops, why should they get that money? I see nothing wrong with the Feds doing this. Don't pay for services that do not exist.

It is like paying teachers even though they won't actually be teaching kids. Online schooling is way cheaper and if they are doing this for the winter, federal funding should be reduced since overhead of the schools should be way cheaper. But the schools want all the money....where is the extra money going to go? Teachers getting paid full wage for doing half the work?

Seems like pretty big news.

Far reaching implications and precedent.

Need to add more cities to that list. Lancaster, PA, Rochestor, NY, Minneapolis, MN and probably more.

NYC should vote to adopt a new motto: 'BETTER RED THAN DEAD'.

Seems little more than a shameful political attack by the President's attack dog at the request of its master , stuff like this shows Trump's "MAGA" rhetoric for what it is .... nonsense.

While I don't think your assertion is wrong, the nature seems to be more of a force multiplied response. The attack was started by mayors and governors with their own agendas while still holding out their hands for more taxpayer funds.

Of course you say that. But you're wrong
The Executive branch has the power to withhold funding in certain circumstances
does this meet that criteria?
only the courts can answer
But with a new conservative justice about to be appointed, that could be an affirmative
and that's so clear and easy that even your avatar can understand it

Whatabout the dozens of deaths and injuries and the hundreds of millions of dollars in damage from all the protests, riots, and lootings that have happened in cities that have knowingly stood down police on purpose ?

What About all that ???? LOL 😃

I think his assertion is entirely wrong
and don't discount the timing of this announcement
RBG dies Friday, and Monday we have this
I believe, although I have no proof of this, that this card wasn't played earlier because they knew Roberts would side with the Lefties on the court
So they kept their card close to their chest
Only when RBG died, and a clear path to a new Conservative majority without Roberts was in sight
did they decide to play this card.
They believe they can win now

What abject nonsense.

Federal dollars should not go to cities that will not do their jobs and protect the people. Couple that with selective and partisan enforcement of the law by the DAs and state AGs in some of these places and you have a recipe for exactly what has happened here.

It may behoove you to inform yourself on these issues before leveling such an accusation. But, who am I kidding? Orange Man Bad, right?

So on the balance of evidence because ORANGE MAN BAD, all of established federal, state, and local law also become BAD too? Bad enough that those same jurisdictions just suddenly stopped prosecuting and upholding it? That is why they're being branded anarchist states.

Sure, so much evidence that a 40 million dollar investigation by a group of notorious partisan Democrat attorneys and a renowned prosecutor in the most hyper partisan Power of overreach couldn’t find.

You continue to impress with your lack of understanding concerning American politics.

On topic,

This can be bad and good, however I support the administration and especially Barr, since he approved it. I think it’s good because this would get the local and state to really crack down, however I think it may be bad in the long run as it can be used as a political response, i.e, threats of being labeled anarchist jurisdiction that could lead to business fallouts.

So, that’s my opinion of the issue.
