As I said isolate and quarantine yourself if you’re afraid or vulnerable. Listen to yourself “potential illness”.

I wear a mask as self protection.

I know I haven't got it, and I want to have the best chance of not getting it from you.

All the same, I loathe wearing it RCT free

Yes, several good reasons. Have you worn one for 8-10 hrs a day? How often do you change your mask out? Is your face getting dermatitis or acne or staff infections? Many people are. How about it makes it more difficult to breath, difficulty that increases with the better efficiency of the masks. Did you know that OSHA actually requires a pulmonary function test to wear an N95 mask in a workplace? Do you know why they require a pulmonary function test for respirators?

12 hours, think my record was 14 hours.

How often do you change your mask out?

Depends on the situation, we took breaks every 4 hours so it would have been changed every four hours. Now that am not in Covid ICU its just regular surgical face masks which are probably changed a little more frequently but id depends.

I wasn't too bad, one of my colleagues developed quite a nasty pressure sore due to the tight fitting FFP3 mine was a little red but okay. Some of my colleagues have reported a little more acne and some (I think 2) had to get "Sensitive" masks. Thats about it. I also spent a bit of time working in Ortho/Trauma theatre and we wore masks for the duration of the operation which could be hours upon hours and it was never an issue. I honestly have never experienced anyone getting a staff infection thats been caused by a mask, am not saying it doesn't happen.

I work 12 hours a day in a face mask, it drys me out a little bit at times I think, I have had no problems breathing nor have any of my colleagues. I am talking about you putting on a mask for the 40 minutes it takes you to do the weekly shop.

We actually never required this, we do get face-fit tests which you might be thinking about, respirators are different and we're talking about you wearing a simple face mask so lets stop talking apples and oranges.

When we go back into a second lock down, its because of people like you.

You obviously do not know what wearing a mask is for. It is not to protect you from getting the disease, its to prevent you from spreading it if you have it.

The majority of covid transmission is from droplets on surfaces. Wearing a mask minimises the spread of droplets from your mouth and nasal passages on to surfaces

Or let me put it this way.

If two people are naked in the street, and one pisses on the other, that person gets wet. (Direct infection)
If the person being peed on is wearing clothes, there is an element of protection stopping them getting wet. (indirect infection, but a barrier to some infection and manageable with sanitisation)
If the person who is peeing is wearing clothes (person wearing a mask), the chances of the other person getting wet is extremely minimised.

You, with your anti-mask BS, are pissing on society.

You are either stupid, or willfully ignorant and don't give a toss about other people.

Dude, your trying to explain fomite transmission to people who actually honestly believe that wearing a mask is infringing upon their rights. Your gonna need to come down a few levels for them to get this.

Are you seriously suggesting that there is even the remotest similarity between WWII, its causes and the freedoms fought for and this pandemic and having the minor inconvenience of having to wear a mask some times?

Its not a great hardship really having to put a mask on before going into a shop.
It took big bloody balls of steel to jump off a landing craft and rush onto a beach in Normandy under horrific gunfire etc.

You can moan as much as you want, where you want and when you want about having to endure the ordeal of putting a mask on before going into a shop.
Under The Nazi's no-one could complain and moan about anything and if they did they were sent to a concentration camp and gassed to death along with millions of other people whose only crime(s) were to be Jews or maybe Catholic or gay or some other race/creed/sexuality etc deemed sub-human.

The similarities are striking??

At what point did I ever state I what a mask is for explicitly?

A surgical mask stops the spread of disease, a respiratory SMMS (spunbond meltblown meltblown spundbond) polypropylene mask protects the wearer from breathing in the disease.

You assume far too much about people from your high horse.

Thats why I went gutter level with the metaphor.

Anyone who can't understand what I've just written is thick, or being deliberately obtuse.

Anyone who says they they can't bear the minor inconvinience of wearing a mask for minimal periods in more confined/closed in spaces like shops and takeaways while they are out in society is - frankly - neurotic, or a whining idiot (with the very minor exception of a very small, less that 1% of society, who may have a serious medical issue)

Wearing a mask isn't impeding their freedom, its ensuring it.

I did not compare the war to coronavirus.

You are unable to understand simple plain language on a forum.

I am discussing liberties. Freedoms. Give one inch based upon forced fear and you will end up giving up a mile down the road.

I am not comparing the war to the virus. The war was serious. The virus is far less serious. Far less.

Wearing a mask isn't so bad, but forced propaganda and tricks used by TPTB and the media, which are clearly beyond your comprehension (again) are what is a really really serious problem.

Like I said to Andy06Shake, you may not be able to comprehend this at the moment, but with hindsight you will, and you will regret falling like a coward.

I know, its against T&C's but sometimes you've just got to call it like it is and you're being a complete idiot, I don't actually think you're being obtuse, I don't think your even trolling I actually think your just thick....

You have been tested etc, don't wear a mask and carry an exemption card.

Millions upon millions of people have not been tested so they may be spreading the virus or may catch it from someone else so why don't they minimise the chances of either occurring and wear a mask when entering shops etc?

Its no great #ing hardship, its not degrading, so where is the problem?

And once again, there you go, calling people stupid... It's almost textbook. You could be the centre of a study on how propaganda effects the masses in a couple of decades.

Sometimes though when someone is being stupid its just a matter of calling it out, am not name calling I just honestly think your probably not the best educated of chaps and this is the result. I don't say it to cause offence, I am just giving you an opinion that based on your posts on this thread, I can only conclude that your an idiot.

Freedom is being able to go out, go shopping, socialise, see you family and do all the things you can currently do if you wear a mask and take relevant precautions against the virus.

Wearing a mask, sanitising and social distancing enables the above.

The removal of freedom is a state enforced full lock down, with a curfew, with Police and army on the streets enforcing it, with severe penalties for those who do not comply. This is where we'll end up if this thing gets out of hand again.

Encouraging people not to wear a mask is - to use another analogy - like being in the Luftwaffe during the Blitz.

The people who complain about masks are the same idiots who would have kept their lights on during the blitz "because being told to turn off my lights is infringing upon my rights"
