It's Bull Moose or nothing.

You trying to trick Republicans back to their Progressive roots?

Oh, those Republicans are too clever to be tricked into anything. Besides, they would claim that something called a "Progressive" party is nothing but a bunch of commies. So to hell with them. Here's what their platform was in 1912. Sadly applicable over 100 years later:

Political parties exist to secure responsible government and to execute the will of the people. From these great tasks both of the old parties have turned aside. Instead of instruments to promote the general welfare, they have become the tools of corrupt interests which use them impartially to serve their selfish purposes.

Behind the ostensible government sits enthroned an invisible government owing no allegiance and acknowledging no responsibility to the people. To destroy this invisible government, to dissolve the unholy alliance between corrupt business and corrupt politics is the first task of the statesmanship of the day.

The deliberate betrayal of its trust by the Republican party, the fatal incapacity of the Democratic party to deal with the new issues of the new time, have compelled the people to forge a new instrument of government through which to give effect to their will in laws and institutions. Unhampered by tradition, uncorrupted by power, undismayed by the magnitude of the task, the new party offers itself as the instrument of the people to sweep away old abuses, to build a new and nobler commonwealth.

President Trump is up to 30% approval in the black community. When he was elected it was only 9% approval.

Interesting that you now trust polls. Which trustworthy poll are you pulling this from?

This is awesome, and the first I've heard of it. A massive convention recently took place in which over 400,000 people attended for over 5 hours of speeches which culminated in a vote to create a new political party that is not influenced or controlled by big corporations, big pharma, the military industrial complex, etc. This is exactly what we need. While I don't know too much about politics, it has always seemed that a two-party system is doomed to ineffectiveness and inefficiency. The Democrats and Republicans are in a constant battle for control; one side votes for something, the other side votes against. We need a third option, and this new "People’s Party" could be it.

Fed up with decades of two-party rule, hundreds of thousands of Americans tuned in for the People’s Convention, where they voted to form a new political alternative unbeholden to corporate power or the military-industrial complex.

more than 5 hours of speeches that culminated in a vote to create a “major new corporate-free political party in America.”

Among the speakers at the convention were several disgruntled Democrats, ... former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura, comedian Jimmy Dore, and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Chris Hedges

It ended with a vote to create the People’s Party in 2021, in which some 99 percent of its 400,000 viewers took part.

The group has set a lofty goal for the new anti-corporate outfit, hoping it will be “poised to sweep Congress and the White House” by the next election cycle in 2024.

Only one thing matters to the oligarchs, it is not democracy, it is not truth, it is not the consent of the governed, it is not income inequality, it is not the surveillance state, it is not endless war… it is the primacy of corporate power, which has extinguished our democracy and left most of the working class and the working poor in misery.

There are already several parties. They’re all minor though. They never gain much traction. Ross perot, ralph nader, and ron paul, to name just a few ran as a third party candidate and while holding a fairly decent support base, just could never get enough support to even really compete against the two major parties. This “third” party will end up likely being the actual 6th or so party as it’s highly unlikely to gain any real support base or traction.

Perot screwed himself when he dropped out in July of that year. Despite this pulling 20% of the popular vote was a significant indicator of how displeased people were with both parties. If he would have not dropped out, picked a wacky running mate and basically ran a better campaign the chances of him pulling enough electoral votes to deny either one of the major candidates 270 votes would have been solid.

We need a change in the country yes. Starting with more kindness and far less hate. Otherwise it wont make it no matter what the system.
