The most powerful man-made explosion on our planet can now be seen in full detail. On the YouTube channel of the state atomic energy corporation Rosatom, a documentary has been published with previously classified recordings of a bomb test with a capacity of 50 million tons. Previously, the film had the status of "Top Secret" and was used only for internal procedures.

The most powerful bomb in the history of mankind, the AN602, better known as the Tsar Bomba, or Kuzkina's Mother, was detonated on October 30, 1961. The power of the explosion of a thermonuclear bomb is estimated by various sources at 50-60 megatons. The diameter of the fireball from the explosion was 4.6 kilometers. The nuclear mushroom rose above the stratosphere, reaching an altitude of 67 kilometers. As a result of these tests, it was proved in practice that the maximum power of a nuclear charge, in principle, is not limited by anything, except for the availability of appropriate delivery vehicles.

The film describes all the stages of preparation, transportation and use of a bomb from an air carrier. The film is subtitled in English.

Thank.

I was waiting for this. I think it's way too weak. There's too many advertisements

gives video to what was to date the most terrifying nuclear weapons ever developed.

but if one thinks about it and that this was accomplished with without question very primitive nuclear weapons technology.

what in hades with todays nuclear weapons tech (with the added tech of miniaturization) what is on the drawing boards.

or worse what is in some secret bunker already made.

That's incredible!

What were they trying to do blow a hole in the earths crust to let out the hot magma?

Still tiny compared with the " Chicxulub impactor "

The Chicxulub impactor had an estimated diameter of 11–81 kilometers (6.8–50.3 mi), and delivered an estimated energy of 21–921 billion Hiroshima A-bombs (between 1.3×1024 and 5.8×1025 joules, or 1.3–58 yottajoules).[2]For comparison, this is ~100 million times the energy released by the Tsar Bomba

Already seen it on a other video site, its long but in depth and well worth the watch.
Wat surprised me was the commander at 18:16 looking very american as in a fat john wayne.
If only the N1 was more successful we would have seen the same type of docu from that grandiose project.

That was a baby compared to Vredefort crater in Africa. 2 Billion years old, 190km wide. Largest on Earth. A total extinction event, even though there was a lot less life around back then and it was most likely all ocean.

I wonder how far away those filming were?

Knowing their distance would give us a better feel for the scale of this thing.
