it's decisions being made by politicians based on their own agendas rather than scientific knowledge. And it's reasonable to assume that this is how decisions regarding first contact with aliens will be made as well. Which was the point of the article.

I think the whole idea of "preparation for disclosure" is stupid. Though, thanks to that DeLonge kid and his entertainment factory, it's in the news.

The thread is not about "is covid19 designed to prepare society for ET contact."

The thread is about, just like with scientist and politicians arguing about covid19, scientist and politicians will argue about what to do with ET contact.

Well the current situation is the military says they are a threat to our airspace, so shoot first ask questions later, when aliens could be 100% non-violent. So I think that will come up. War vs Peace.

Just for clarification, it's not a conspiracy that covid19 and ET contact are related to eachother, it's just that there's similarities.

One of the points the researchers brought up is that when we receive an unequivocal message from aliens in outer space .... just who will decide how or if to respond.... and that the virus highlights the fact that it will come down to a choice between scientists or governments and that this is something that mankind as a whole needs to start thinking about.

It will and is currently government scientists. Unless ET makes the entire world know of their existence, ET contact will be kept secret.

If it's wide out in the open imo it's fairly obvious the Republicans will listen to themselves and not scientists.

Republicans are a part of the government. The OP asked me about scientist and politicians making decisions when it comes to ET. Republicans deny almost everything from the scientific community. I believe the scientific community would want to research the ET's and make peaceful contact while Republicans would want to shoot them down imo.

What's the matter with you? Why are you so triggered? It shouldn't make you so upset.

The researchers point out that the pandemic has many similarities to a First Contact event, particularly with regard to the involvement of scientists, the scrutiny they undergo and their interaction with politicians. Of course, there are many differences too, but the researchers say this unexpected opportunity can help to develop plans for handling a First Contact in future.

Politicians, in the US we have Republican politicians, who apply a lot of scrutiny towards scientist, especially for covid19. So my posts are exactly what the thread is all about.

in the 'War of the Worlds' by H. G. Wells, it was the invaders that got a hard time from our biosphere.

Just for fun i made up a story some days ago and told it a friend, created a conspiracy theory including lockdowns, masks and the arrival of "our space bros": Those in charge, those that use the covid hype to spread fear and panic to make people do what those in charge want, know that this or next year the so called "first" contact will happen and they can´t do anything about it. We need to wear masks to be protected at least a little bit of what the space bros could introduce to earth. Lockdowns: They simply don´t want too many people at the same time seeing these ships arrive and that`s why we all should stay at home in our spare time(most people don´t watch the skies while working).

Told my friend that i should, just for fun, spread this theory in the web because nobody did yet. And we maybe could watch how it maybe would spread around the world and people would start to think the covid hype was created because of aliens. And not because of the "Great Reset". And that the real reason for establishing a new world order hidden behind that covid hype is aliens and not the usual suspects in suits, ties and for sure clean coats. Then i realized that it wouldn´t be a good idea to turn away masses of people from the reality...
