You touch upon the lesser of 2 evils, while I agree that cops are preferred to gangs, in order for evil to flourish, it only requires good men to do nothing.

It is our role to protect our streets.

Good people won't put up with chaos in their neighborhoods for very long.

Vigilantism and local heroes will be born of these environments and your communities will be better for having these people step up to the plate.

We need to grow together and this current state of complacency is akin to giving a man a fish rather than teaching him how to fish.

Our growth cannot be achieved without conflict and strife.

It is our role to protect our streets I agree, and in our current situation this is more true than maybe you realize.

Police in most cases only respond to crime when called upon , they do very little proactive policing . A very small department with in a Police department actually investigates crime and this is done in a very discreet way . Police function mainly to keep us from desending into chaos, they enforce laws when there is a blatant violation.

Police in Large cities are maybe a little more proactive with the stop and frisk thing, but even that is done only in the most high crime areas.

I things you are speaking of are things that the law makers deal with. The police are doing a job that the lawmakers do not make good laws for. Some unnecessary, some useless, some overbearing, some just wrong.

The armed citizens are suffering from these bad laws and lawmakers also. Some don't want you to be able to protect yourself and family from intruders. Some allow police to pretend to be intruders, no knock raids.

The police are supposed to be there to help you not have to shoot an intruder in the middle of the night that has just busted through your front door.

Defund the police?

It's doing quite a lot of good............ if you're rich!!

If you're a local wealthy citizen who has money available to invest in real estate, then you can predict that quite a lot of people will soon be fleeing to the suburbs.

Real estate prices will plummet!


But then afterwards, sooner or later, the police will get funding again, and those prices will go right back up.



This is wealthy citizens pressing their city council to give them a quick way to turn over some green.
