On Aug. 4, 2020, Deputy Secretary of Defense David L. Norquist approved the establishment of an Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) Task Force (UAPTF). The Department of the Navy, under the cognizance of the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security, will lead the UAPTF.

The Department of Defense established the UAPTF to improve its understanding of, and gain insight into, the nature and origins of UAPs. The mission of the task force is to detect, analyze and catalog UAPs that could potentially pose a threat to U.S. national security.

This might be of some worth.

Just like most government projects, you get to pay for it but you don’t get to benefit from it.

Fantastic, combined with trumps new Space Force, we should all sleep better at night knowing the government is on the job. But perhaps we should finish the wall before spending taxpayer dollars on protecting us from space aliens.

Honestly, it just sounds like more pandering to the gamer community by the GOP.

I don't agree, it's money well spent. You never know when those space bugs are coming to invade and consume us by sucking out our brains. Better be prepared!
When they start bombarding our planet I'll be signing up for a short bootcamp montage and we'll all bond and be up to the task to grill some oversized crickets and beetles.

Man, that's such a good movie and Richards is so freaking hot in it.
Would you like to know more?
Space boner!

Seems like if it were up to people like you we would all remain on the planet and just wait for imminent inevitable utter destruction of earth via asteroid, comet or other things you don't like us to explore. Good thing you are not in charge. Have fun living in your box.

I'm all for exploration, I praised the moon missions... but there is a reason we don't have a moon base. It's been 50 years since we set foot on the moons surface. What's the hold up?

The government wants to spend 700 BILLION a YEAR on military is one reason. If we could use just one quarter of that we would have a base on Luna and Mars!

Also NASA is just like any other big government Bureaucracy, very wasteful. Contracts should be given to the private sector only from now on.

Also, politicians keep voting against funding for space exploration and other space related programs.
