Intro — Finally Doing This!

My name is Emily and I’ve been lurking on ATS since the seventh grade. I’m 27 now and I don’t know why I never made myself a handle for this website until a few months ago (to comment on a post but ultimately “chickened out”) ... I guess it’s because I’ve been reading all of your posts for so many years now that I’m, in a way, afraid to comment, or ask questions, and just seem downright dumb! You guys really are awesome and I wish I were more in-tune with the state of things and that I could carry on an intelligent conversation or debate about the topics I read about on here. I feel like I need to impress y’all! I don’t know how else to say it but I think you catch my drift. I’m not going to be the ignorant redneck that’s spewing BS about something I know nothing about! “A closed mouth gathereth no foot.” Anyway, that was my introduction.. My first introduction was about seeing a thunder bird or something. Welcome

Edit it was about seeing military aircraft over my small town. We have a lot of airforce bases around here.

don't be afraid to just ask questions. Take information from BOTH sides, do your due diligence, and form an opinion based on that. If a good argument happens and turns your view around, then it's a win. If your point of view seems most logical, it's a win. But I doubt there is a better place on the internet to find the kind of thinking you can get here. Some great minds, and some feeble minds. Mix all that up, and you have the dysfunctional family we have here.
