It was mainly your choice of wording, "Good Grief" for example has gone out of regular use but is still used by more well heeled individuals in the
UK instead or resorting to profanity's and we for the most part in Blighty tend not to associate it with phrasing and language commonly used in US
media (which our kid's tend to ape somewhat).
Despite my caustic response it is nice to see someone over the pond using better English than most Brit's do (including myself).
I suppose all political systems have there flaws, it is always going to be inherent that those that establish such a system will often try to create
forms to give themselves or there (vested) interests greater representation.
In the UK there is currently only one political party that is trying to bring proportional representation into affect and that is the Liberal
Democrat party, a not too popular party that is always in third place while Labour and the Conservative party's both usually work to defend there
power base and that being there share of the vote, they are neither really that interested in installing proportional representation as it would in
affect force a redrawing of the political landscape that would both harm and aid both of them in unpredictable way's - and likely give the Liberal
Democrats a bigger share of the vote since it would then not work on who control's seats but how many individual vote.
So your point about democracy is actually completely correct, neither of our systems is a true democracy though to be fair they are probably the
closest we can get and also you are correct about mob rule a true democracy (without the electorate being both intelligent enough and informed enough
to realize the affect of there choice not only on the now but the long term) is at current public intelligence levels a recipe for chaos since we the
general public are often fickle and easily swayed by party propaganda and promises that are never kept.
Looking at it from an outsiders perspective though Trump seems to be a far better president than he has been given credit for being and also had the
Covid-19 disaster not occurred likely the US would now be heading for a record return to profit as a nation along with the job's this would create as
US industry turned around, it is also a good bet that the aftermath of his years will benefit the US since he has successfully withdrawn a lot of
future runaway corporate investment in the likes of China while causing those same corporations to have to put that investment back into the US and
rest of the western world though likely they are looking for other sources of cheap labour and at least moderately stable governments in corporate
friendly poor nations as an alternative starting the whole fiasco off all over again so how long those newly returned investments in the US and the
rest of the first world shall remain there is open to speculation but with proper control's in place the corporations can be brought back under
control, at the moment they are acting pretty much like the giant's of the old testament, consuming people's labour and then consuming the peoples
lives as well but the problem is how do you gain control, well Trump while appearing to be there friend has done a pretty good job of that in his
correct response to both threat modern China which is built on the back of these unethical corporate giant's has posed, China currently poses the
greatest threat to world peace in my opinion with it's over confident expansionist policy's and vast militarization so Trump in my opinion was the
right man at the right time in the right place no matter how many lunatic left neo communists hate him simply because he replaced a black
president.
Oh I will warrant that in your nation perhaps he is not perfect, no man ever can be, but I do believe that his heart is fully in the well being and
interests of the US and it's people's, he also a lot less corrupt than his opposition and being already rich was unbuyable though apparently his
wealth has more than halved during his time in office so being president of the US has cost him dearly, perhaps a sacrifice he was willing to make but
it must be painful nevertheless.
