Huge news coming out of the Middle East.

Israel and the UAE have reached a historic peace deal and are establishing full diplomatic relations.

The deal appears to have been negotiated at least in part by the Trump administration.

A huge piece of news as part of the deal is that Israel has agreed to suspend annexation of occupied territories that are claimed by the Palestinians in the West Bank.

That should be a big step toward a peace deal between Israel and Palestine, but unfortunately I doubt it will move the needle at all. The poor Palestinians are hostages to their leadership and Hamas, who will settle for nothing less than the end of Israel. No peace is possible with them no matter how much Israel gives up. Just look at the deal Clinton brokered at the end of the 90s that Arafat walked away from.

Still, big news, only the 3rd Arab state to make peace with Israel.

ETA: I have MSNBC on right now and even they are giving it positive coverage, shockingly.

Huge deal and happy to hear it.

Been listening to the coverage and Trump even said we don't need them for anything anymore....not for oil, nothing.

I am sure the US had a lot to do with the negotiations because of our involvement from administrations past.

This is a great move, but it will take time to see how it actually works out.

Any Peace agreement in the ME is a GOOD thing...Right?
I'll have to tune into CNN to see why this is terrible.

No doubt MSM will try to downplay it, but anyone that has any interest in US relations with the area or keeps up with anything that truly affects foreign policy will understand the positive implications this has on the world....except for Iran.....they won't be very happy.

Under the agreement, Israel has agreed to suspend applying sovereignty to areas of the West Bank that it has been discussing annexing, senior White House officials told Reuters.

So, Israel blinked, and in return the UAE will finally recognize the existence of Israel.

What does the UAE get out of this?

As we're energy dependent, we literally need nothing from the UAE, it's literally just geo politics down there.

Infact, the UAE may be cozying up to China soon, who are in need of one vital resource, OIL.

This is massively important!

Contrary to the trolls, this is a really good thing. The UAE has been a back channel negotiator for years along with Jordan for the region and as it relates to Israel and the U.S. Yet would never publicly acknowledge this. The normalcy of these relationships are enormous. If you do not know anything about the region you may say this is just P.R. Yet if you have some foundation of understanding of the region, culture and history... you would of not thought this possible.

This would be same equivalent as if the democrats said civil rights were an inalienable right to ALL in 1877 vs passing Jim Crow laws. Yet we know what they did. Today is a monumental day for Israel, the middle east and even the security of the US

Yeah MSNBC didn't even air the entire Oval Office video. They cut away for commentary as some of the other folks in the room were still having their turns to speak, probably because they were all praising Trump, and the Democrats don't want that aired.

Is that how you've been told to spin it? Wow, the talking points got out fast this time.

Anything to talk # about those pesky Jews, eh?

Don't act like you would even be asking this question if it was brokered during a Biden/Harris administration.

It's a step even if it's a small one in the right direction.

Israel also declare to withdraw from Gaza which they did ( 50k Israelis ) and instead build more and more illegal settlements in West Bank and East Jerusalem (more than half million imigrants).

Yhmm, no.. i dont believe in Israel good intentions towards Palestine and its people. Nope.

I don't think this has much to do with Trump, although he'd like to think so. It's all Bibi. He's mired in scandal and desperately needs some good news for his own political future. Although shelving Golan Heights projects might piss off some of his financiers. Doesn't look like there's going to be a Trumpville in Golan Heights any time soon! LOL

Joe Biden it just issued a statement saying the deal between Israel and UAE brokered by President Trump's Administration is a good one. And he and Kamala Harris will build up on it to make it even better!

Maybe they will sweeten it with pallets of cash?
