No, the emotions will be working differently.
Part of the issue with Harry and Megan was the public perception that the couple were letting her down.

Naw, mate she about 94 years-old ffs!

She should have stepped down 20 or 30 years ago I'm afraid.

No harm no foul really, it's not like she did not put in the time.

Maybe at 94 and the limelight on child trafficking she's running out of fresh blood.
Maybe Camilla Horseface becomes Queen , while Charles pushes his vegetarian agenda.

Down with all the Reptilians!@!

Sounds like more of the British fondness for gossip about the Royals.

As has been pointed out there is a whole industry devoted to our Royal Family......but that interest isn't limited to the UK, I've seen that obsession equalled by people from outside these islands, paricularly the USA.

He'd be hilarious as king. Comedy gold.

It'd be hilarious wouldn't it and probably lose the Royal Family whatever integrity it has left.
But let's be honest, there's been far worse characters on the British throne.

So the German midget is stepping down to take care of her proud Nazi supporter husband of WWII.

I find it humorous that here in the UK most people who call The Queen German and try to use it in a derogatory manner are some the most woke and politically correct and are supporters of unlimited immigration and even open borders.
Hypocrisy and double standards.
And if we were to apply those some standards to all UK citizens I would supect that the vast majority would be considered a different nationality to British.

Philip is Greek.....and a complete knobhead.

I think he is more Danish however I am getting that from an episode of QI and there may be some bias from the host.

This would be a much more heart warming story if she were stepping down to give AIDS to Prince Philip.

Huh, she felt the need to step down for personal reasons and well-being... she’s gonna get slammed like Harry and Megan

A few months, compared to dedicating more than a lifetime? Not exactly a fair comparison.

What’s the issue with grown people doing as they see fit or what makes them happy...

I’m sure tabloids will view this as betrayal at a time when leadership is needed.

But hey, pedos get less scrutiny than people wanting lead a personal life.

The time length is irrelevant, the point is she’s stepping down because it’s necessary, the time lengths are irrelevant when personal life seems to supersede royal duties.

Doing what is best has nothing to do with time served.

I did say "perceived". I wasn't making judgements in my own right, just explaining objectively how the public reactions are likely to work. You don't need to agree with the perception in order to understand how and why it is lkely to be different in the two cases. It's a matter of understanding the collective psychology.

If true, then i am not surprised in the least.

The Queen is 94 years of age. She has served Britain and The Commonwealth for 68 years. Don't you think everyone needs to retire at some point ?

It would be such a boost to our flagging economy to have a Coronation it would be the right time to pass on the reigns to big ears and get the Union Jacks waving

Think the crown will go to William instead of big ears Charlie dad.

Considering his own extended age.

Whilst technically Prince Charles is presently heir, he may abdicate and pass the throne to his eldest.

Too right mate
Plus they got the issues with Dianna and Mrs Horse too which sort of ended Charlies majic.

At the same time it would be wonderful if big ears took the Crown. He's quite a likeable guy. Plus we'd get two coronations instead of one, daft as it sounds these royal things are great for business with all the mugs, trays, tea towels, etc, then the parties / events etc. Would be a real kickstart to our economy

It's fine Sap's as Vlad just got the vaccine by testing it on his daughter then he can flog it bto Astra who'll knock it out at an exhrbitant cost to the taxpayer and by next summer we'll all be free to mix and have a wonderful time crowning Charlie King of the Brits and Commonwealth
