Manhattan's DA drops felony charge against BLM leader for assaulting a NYPD cop and releases him

DA Cyrus Vance personally ordered the charges against Derrick Ingram, 28, dropped from felony assault in the second degree to misdemeanor assault, a law enforcement source told the New York Post.

Ingram is accused of injuring a female cop by shouting directly in her ear with a bullhorn on June 14, resulting in the officer being hospitalized with temporary hearing damage.

On Friday, a team of NYPD officers who were sent to arrest Ingram retreated after an hours-long standoff outside his home, where an angry crowd confronted them. Ingram later surrendered at a police precinct after the arrest team left.

Not the best way to stop the madness, IMO.

Derrick Ingram was looking at up to seven years if convicted of the felony charge. It is only a misdemeanor charge now and he will likely spend no time in jail, even if convicted.

So it looks like the mob is in charge of NYC now. With the NYPD leaders and the cities DA's doing whatever they can to help the rioters.

The NYC street cops have a good question. 'Why are our leaders sending us out to enforce laws they don't believe in? And what are we supposed to tell New Yorkers who are watching us retreat while violence overwhelms their streets?'

We knew when mayor de Blasio told the police not to resist if protesters threw water, Kool-Aid, and other liquids on them, that the New York City Police were in big trouble.

Which means the citizens of New York City are in big trouble.

Will this finally be the straw that breaks the camels back and the officers say F it? At some point you have to say it isn't worth it when the guys that are supposed to protect you turn on you.

It is a very dangerous path some of these cities are going down. Who in their right mind would want to to come on as a new hire in cities and states.

I don't understand why every last NYPD officer has not walked off the job and left the city in a state of complete and total lawlessness. If that's what the elected politicians want, that's what they need to be given. Once decent people are scared to walk out into the street in broad daylight, maybe they'll realize that electing progressives morons is not in their best interest.

I think the residents of New York believed Mayor de Blasio when he said last month that the thousands of prisoners he's let out of jail have made the city safer.

AOC, Nadler, and Schumer agreed with him.

This is what should happen to domestic terrorists. They have no reason to be in neighborhoods. If they want to destroy the downtowns of Democrat cities who don’t do anything about it then so be it.

I was being sarcastic but if I'm to be frank most people have to rile themselves up before they have the balls to go to the crunch... I see a lot of that.

Plus given the numbers those "ninjas" shouldn't have walked out of town. Too many people seem interested in recording themselves doing a crime too. Then again it's not every day you corner some pesky ninjas.

As much as I like to see antifa get beat up that liveleak was kinda sad. These crazy ass ideals get implanted in antifa/blm member's head and they probably don't realize it until they're hit. You can always tell whom has had a butt kicking and whom hasn't.

What I think a more reasonable approach by the counter protesters was to beat them to the ground and jump off, not dogpile. Antifa members are mostly my age and I worry those people probably had # parents and now they're getting beat up because they don't understand a dangerous idea can be met with an equally dangerous reaction.

You could tell they didn't know what to do when they started getting surrounded.

IDK I enjoy seeing Antifa get beat up but I feel like that could've went better for all involved. And though they're antifa I still feel bad for them in that particular situation. I'm not sure if it's because they're not in a city or if it's because they were so outnumbered. I really question what happened in their lives to reach a point of believing idiots. I suppose the simplest answer is spoiled/lack of parental attention.

Maybe it's time when the want to LARP that there are consequences to their actions. Most of the LARPers I've seen are white bored midle class kids with expensive gear they are sowing violence to the wind and they will eventually reap the violence of the whirl wind. And it won't be pretty alot of people on both sides will be hurt and even killed.
