It certainly seems more stable than previous versions.
And Edge isn't as icky as IE was....I never liked that browser....going back at lest 20 years.

Edge is good.
Windows 10 is the best gaming platform ever as it manages resources better than any other.
It only gets better with HAGS (Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling)

Which is exactly why I went to Windows 10.

I'm a gamer so I obviously need to be able to use the latest DX.

I just liked the layout of Windows 7. It felt like XP with more awesomeness.

Maybe I'm just old and don't like change.

Windows7 was the boss.

Everything after that was try hard user unfriendly crap.

I resisted 10 as long as possible!

When I finally succumbed, I found 10 was not so bad.....in fact much better and easier than I feared!
Some things are harder to navigate, but 7 is now a memory for me.....

See post above. ☝

Did you know there are ways to get the same look and feel as Windows 7 ?
My Taskbar and other items are set and look just like Windows 8 .
And you don't need a program....

Direct X 12 Ultimate and WDDM 2.9 are just around the corner.

Well, how do you remedy browser memory leaks?
Or does it depend?

I'd be willing to check out FF again.

The ones I was thinking about was where Firefox's memory usage would start small and build to extreme levels .
If that happens one can use about : config in the address line of Firefox

But , search the web for answers first...

I can understand that.
I resisted 10 until I had to get a new computer.
I even looked into getting a used PC to avoid 10!!!!
LOL

Back when I was still using windows, I once had to buy a computer and ended up also getting a used one just so I could have XP.

As far as browsers, I used Opera for a while and really liked it. I can't recall why I changed, but went with Firefox and have been using that for at least a decade with no issues.

I used to like OPera....but when it went with the mobile look, it lost me totally.
And I think the browser you first love is the one you like best....for me it was firefox, before the memory dumps became so prevalent.
NEVER liked Chrome.

I've never used Chrome, but that's all a friend of mine uses.

I *think* when I started using Opera was when I was still using PC, and it have been that Opera was unsupported on Mac when I initially switched over, but can't be certain.

I really like Firefox, though. No security issues (at least with mac), customizable/ad ons, frequent updates, etc.

I don't recall any memory dump issues.

I still want netscape 4.0 and the email client it had. It's like a first crush on a girl you used to know.

I know by this time your laptop is unusable from your other thread... It sounds like your hard drive is tired and about to go so sawp it with something faster(SSD) and copy your data off the old one.

Edge is c**p

I do research on my computer and get nothing but c**p from edge.

Case in point i was looking for car parts and got sites for new car sales from edge.

Since a update in Sep my win 10 computer has been unable to use firefox.

The only Web Browser I can use is EDGE.

I now am using my old lenove T410 with linux mint 20 and hardly use my win 10 computer any more.

My lenovo mint computer is so much faster then my lenovo win 10 computer

My next computer may be a raspbarry PI-4 mod B with touch screen and linux mint 20.

I want a cyberdeck computer.

The update is like a contractor that will upgrade your house from wood studs inside your house walls to the metal studs without causing dust or any indication that it is being done. It literally is a new OS with your old programs, settings, and files kept intact and working. The length of time the update needs is relative to how much customization you have done and the number of programs you have installed. We won't bring up driver updates or hardware issues as that is its own can of worms.
