BEIRUT: A massive explosion shook Lebanon's capital Beirut on Tuesday wounding a number people and causing widespread damage.
The afternoon blast shook several parts of the capital and thick smoke billowed from the city center. Residents reported windows being blown out and a false ceilings dropping.
The explosion appeared to be centered around Beirut's port and caused wide scale destruction and shattered windows miles away.

It's being reported it wan an industrial incident at a fireworks factory or store , a fire led to the explosion.

I guess the fireworks warehouse thing is plausible. On a couple of the videos you can hear what sounds like lots of little explosions before the big KABOOM. So fireworks were involved. Seeing some speculation that the second one could have been a fertilizer or oxidizer storage facility.

A UN tribunal is due to issue its verdict in the trial of four suspects in the murder by car bomb of Hariri.
All four are members of the Iranian-backed Hezbollah group, which has consistently denied any role in Hariri's death. They are being tried in absentia and the verdict is due on Friday.
The possible second explosion was reported to be at the Hariri residence in the city.
