Police officers in Portland, Oregon rescued a live pig that was due to be publicly slaughtered by far-left rioters as part of an anti-police protest.
“Someone had brought the pig there to ‘sacrifice it to end all police brutality,'” said animal rights activist Mary McDonald-Lewis, who cared for the pig until law enforcement arrived.
McDonald-Lewis specifically told police that the pig would be beheaded, stating that the “animal was going to be slaughtered so its head could be used in the protest”. The word “pig” is often used as a derogatory slang term for police officers by left-wing extremists.
Portland Police Officer Brian Pelster, who helped rescue the pig, confirmed McDonald-Lewis’s remarks.

story is from June 2020. protesters found the sleepy pig. looked for the owners. no sacrifice.
if you have another citation to the slaughter of a pig in Portland please post it.
Betty the pig was/is a pet.
“Betty," the officer said, "has found a home at a local animal farm where they will take good care of her.”
The pig apparently had been abandoned sometime overnight. Several people who had noticed the pig gently covered it with their own orange blanket and jackets, and contacted Mary McDonald-Lewis, an animal rights activist.
The officers got other police to help and they found a farm owned by a retired officer to take the pig.
Officer Brian Pelster returned with a van to rescue the pig, she said.
"SAV’N LIVES ..ONE HOG AT A TIME !!!,'' he posted on his Facebook page Sunday. "Last nights nut jobs decided they were going to sacrifice a pig at the protest and cut its head off. PPB said HELL NO and took custody of the little lady.''
Pelster did not respond to an email on Monday seeking additional information about his claim regarding the pig’s fate.
"It’s a happy story during a sad time, with protesters, cops, a mom and me uniting to help an innocent pig to safety and sanctuary,'' McDonald-Lewis said.

The story in the OP is a hoax.

Betty's brother, Kevin, would likely disagree.

Yeah. Pig heads are hard to come by.

I wonder why Pelster removed his facebook post and didn't respond to questions about it. Perhaps he realized that rumors aren't helpful.
