Recent DOT guidance (according to a former coworker) for long haul truckers was do not stop for riots/protestors go slow enough to give them time to move but to fast for them to jump on the truck, do not stop if you hit someone until you are in a safe location and then call 911 to report what happened.

IMO the driver should be rewarded 1.2 million.

Don't want to get hit by a car, stay out of the road. Strange how police are free to drive into protesters, no million dollar bail for them.

Presumptive of you to assume I either support those people in the road or that I think anarchy is cool today. My point there was that those people in the road were people and not animals and that the rules of the road require that drivers on any road must exercise due caution when impediments present themselves . Especially when those impediments are people.

I see you didnt see the video where the guy was stopped a little ways away huh? the protestors then ran to his car and began trying to remove him from the car. He ran off because he feared for his life,and later down the way surrendered to the police without incident.

Nope I agree ignorant or not he is going to be convicted and do jail time, too many wrongs there to justify anything remotely less.

The Lawyer for him will argue there were no OFFICIAL BARRICADES up with clear markings. Stopping a vehicle that is not permmited to be there(such as official vehicles) on a federal road is unlawful and endangers the populace. I have seen similiar barricades in places where they got you to stop them would murder or rob the drivers.
