The abomination was the continuation of the animal sacrifice.God gave them 40 years then He used the Romans to destroy the temple. Just as he had in times past to bring correction to Israel. Those who could read the signs fled to the hills (the church) and were spared the seige on Jerusalem. There will be no temple built this side of the millennium. The lie that will deceive many in my opinion is the 7 year tribulation, since there is only a 3.5 year period in which God will shorten or no flesh will be left alive.

How do you get peace treaty out of the word covenant? The entire 70 weeks are about Jesus there is no anti-christ in the verses. Jesus made the covenant with Israel who came as the prince of peace, He was cut off after 3.5 years of ministry the first 1/2 week of the 69th week. There is only 3.5 years left or 42 months, which is all the time found in Revelations not 7 years.

Then what is Daniel talking about, mentioning a week, and the middle of the week?

The middle of the 69th was when messiah would be cut off He is the one who made the covenant with many. The whole prophecy is about the Messiah not the anti christ. There is no peace treaty. People are looking for this to happen the very elect teach it to all their church and when the pre trib rapture does not happen, along with the rebuilding of the temple this side of the millennium many will lose their faith and fall away.
