I once thought that, too. Find international sources for news. Stay away from fox, cnn, etc. Use DuckDuckGo. You'll be shocked once you begin to understand the spell all major news corporations chant over the viewers that watch them. Once you wake up from it there's no going back. And that's precisely the reason they have you believing your vote doesn't matter. It does, at least for now.

I agree with this entirely actually. I believe leftists/progressives and liberals/democrats are being purposefully conflated by the right. This is dangerous in my opinion, especially since it is the extreme left that is in the streets right now, not democrats and certainly not liberals.

Change doesn't come easily, it's often brutal. Western civilization has become a kind of shorthand for too many things, I agree. The one thing I think is missing from this conversation is that the demands being made and the take it to the streets manifestation of those demands is a result of some of the finer things that came out of western civilization. It feels threatening because it is

You know, I don't even like conflating Western Civilization with American civilization. We are so different culturally that it doesn't make sense to lump the United States in with the likes of the EU superstate.

That said, Western Civilization as it is colloquially understood (to include the USA) is the seat of global prosperity, global scientific endeavor, space exploration, disease research, so forth and so on. Until that effort comes from the rest of the world then I won't be able to take criticism of Western Society too seriously, at least not from any Eastern nations.

Much of what is happening is Western streets is a result of comfortable Western communists attempting to seize power through chaos. They want to drag the dregs of the Industrial Revolution forward another century in the hope that MAYBE THIS TIME it will work.

It won't.

But here we are, in the midst of another attempt.

Which brings me to the annoying Happy Hippy portion of our program: We have more in common than any of us are willing to admit. Things will not change until that moment we're finally willing to admit it

I don't think any of this is fated to happen. It's going to take cooperation to prevent the worst. I see some signs on both sides (and god how tired am I of referring to all of this as sides) that it's possible to work some things out

Let's be honest - the amount of hostility people feel for each other now is going to take decades to work out. Let's just hope that we can maintain some kind of an uneasy truce

Yes, agree. With drones now - - sightings are worthless. Gonna need actual, hard proof, of real contact - - and not just a photo.

I do like some of the science threads. Accepting the reality of the "new now" and every day living - - could be interesting.

But, there's no real discussion anymore. You basically have the same 7 or so - - right wingers defending each other - - and attacking anyone that has a different view.

It's not that I don't post because I've changed my thinking (I'm kind of an "atheist realist progressive (progressive as in the definition of the word - - not the political ideology). It's because, again - - there's no real exchange of thought.

So what is going on. Drudge has seemed to have completely sold out and gone Deep State. They are openly anti Trump. The idea that conservatives and libertarians support authoritarian big government is beyond the pale insanely false but every day we keep hearing lie upon lie upon lie all across the MSM and there's a huge push on social media as well. I can believe ATS is in the crosshairs to be silenced as its a free thinkers refuge and one of the not too many sites where people can discuss the issues without an agenda dominating. Even talk radio is being stripped away. Local stations are being bought up and talk is being silenced. We're hearing non stop propaganda about Covid 19 which is as speculative an doctored as everything we heard about global warming and racist cops and gun violence. The world has gone mad but its an engineered and manipulated insanity, a psy op which is going to mean dark times for humanity.

I can see Republicans here being for smaller government. I don’t like the negative and judgemental part of Republicans where they try and punish people for having different views than them. For example, gays, trans, blacks, immigrants... Freedom doesn’t give one the right to suppress others.

Not only that, Republicans are a bit incompetent as leaders because they are out of touch with science and reality and thus make decisions based on false data.

You have no idea how much I wish this will come true. But here is the thing. Democrats/the establishment have proven that they will use every dirty tactic to stop Trump being re-elected. A vote for Biden, or no vote whatsoever will give the vote to Biden, and then the democrats can completely dismantle the U.S. just so the UN or some other world power takes complete control of the U.S.

The next few months thing will get much worse unless Antifa, BLM etc are stopped in their tracks. But to do that we would need democrats in government to get off their fat arses and stop the destruction, the looting, the beatings by the thugs whom want socialism/communism in the U.S.

I have said this in the past. For several years I have had visions of the future of the U.S., and that future is unfolding now. If democrats win, either legally or by illegal tactics, a vote for democrats will mean a vote in favor of a global dictatorship. If you are one of the "left-wingers" whom claim not to be political but you believe every lie the left-wing media has been telling you about Trump, and you decide not to vote at all it will be the same as voting for Biden.

If Trump wins the re-election I don't think democrats/socialists/communists will take it with their arms crossed. If Trump wins the re-election the Antifa, BLM and other violent left-wing groups will do everything they can to burn the U.S. If Biden wins the left will still burn the U.S. down by dissecting and abolishing every right we have enjoyed so far, and Biden will finish Obama's legacy by giving up our sovereignty to some "global dictatorship." If this happens people who lean to the right will rise up to fight the dictatorship that will come with Biden being POTUS.

Either choice seems to be bad, but at least with the re-election of Trump we might have a chance to stop the liberals/socialists/communists from eroding and abolishing our rights because "those rights offend certain people."

If you vote Biden, or don't vote for Trump because you don't like something he wrote or said you are giving your vote to Biden, it will mean you are embracing a One World Socialist dictatorship.

Biden's mental health has been deteriorating for quite a while now. He still lies his arse off a lot, but most of the time he can barely utter a coherent phrase, and this is the man the left want to re-elect. A puppet for radicals to implement all the policies they have wanted to impose in the U.S. for decades. A vote for Biden will mean you no longer have a right to self defense, or to own and bears.

Biden has said if he is elected for POTUS he will put O'Rourke in charge of the disarmament of all Americans, and O'Rourke has stated he will send the police house by house to take away everyone's rights. If you think he can't do that you are ignoring the fact that this has been done quite successfully in the past in countries like for example Cuba. A vote for Biden will mean implementing the "New Green Deal", which by itself will bankrupt the U.S. A vote for Biden will mean violent left-wing groups like BLM, Antifa, etc, will "literally" get away with murder. A vote for Biden will mean open borders and in essence the complete surrender of the U.S. not just to the globalists, but it will leave the U.S. at the mercy of South American gangs and groups whom have always been taught to hate the U.S. for the freedoms and prosperity we enjoy. A vote for Biden is an anti-law enforcement vote, and Biden will leave regular law abiding Americans at the mercy of violent groups like BLM and Antifa.

A vote for Trump will mean a vote in favor for our alienable rights. A vote in favor of our second amendment and every right enumerated in the Bill of Rights in the U.S. Constitution. A vote in favor of our law enforcement agencies and to stop violent groups from burning our towns and cities. Businesses will attempt to fix our economy, even when globalists will attempt to destroy our economy. A vote for Trump is a vote to attempt to save the U.S. back for the law abiding citizens.

Those whom decide "not to vote" will give the vote to Biden. Those who claim "there are no sides" are as blind as a bat because it is clear we are at a junction in U.S. history in which we either attempt to save our Republic, or simply allow our Republic to be destroyed altogether by the left.
