I surmised that other interested parties may include someone who could have provided assistance to confirm that materials you were pursuing were not of a classified nature or at least reduce any risks involved. By that I mean perhaps a "Whistleblower Protection" type organisation or a legal professional who could protect both yourself and TFT/Cometa should the proverbial dung heap hit the windmill. We don't know for sure that the materials were not classified.

Even though ten days earlier on June 10th 2019 you claimed

....I'd cross the bridge about whether to obtain a copy of any further video/material _after_ finding someone with it, learning more about that video/material and thinking about this more or looking into it.

I haven't needed to reach any conclusive view on the material yet...

So perhaps the the more likely alternative is that this was all some elaborate hoax. A hoax in which you seemed to have wasted considerable time and effort on. I personally know little about you. You could be some sort of spy, or you could be what you seemed to come across as: Just another sincere seeker hoping to finally dig up some truth on one of our very greatest & profound mysteries.

On one hand I can understand those hoping to find you and hoping for their own answers to the weighty question of, "Are we alone?"

On the other hand, ufology is full of quacks, cutthroats, spies, and other assorted undesirables that it's probably best to stay as far away from as possible. Some good peeps, too, don't get me wrong but you know what I mean.

I cannot see how (1) and (2) apply to what MM said.

With (3), though, you may have hit the nail on the head. The FLIR aspect of the Nimitz affair may indeed be one massive and elaborate hoax. Or, at best, a case of elaborate misdirection concerning what was seen or not seen in November 2004.

(Which reminds me of Jeremy Corbell's support in this very thread for forgotten witness "Trevor", who claims he saw completely different footage. Then again, "Trevor" may be another unreliable rabbit-hole with no bottom in sight, but we'll see how Corbell presents this relatively fresh angle on the whole messy affair.)

I find the straw man presented there interesting and most probably crafted to avoid what this reveals:

Hard to get around what that says about a person imo. Just actively seeking to identify a person apart from their screen name is bound to seem suggestive--or raise questions--to those queried and might reasonably be expected to cast them in somewhat of a suspicious light---or possibly harm their professional reputation by being associated with "ufology" ahem.

I would like to see Isaac address that---maybe he can justify it? Address it in a meaningful and straight-on way?

As an aside, The Black Vault probably is a good place to migrate although I haven't checked out the upgrades John mentions to see if they support thread-making the way ATS does. Anyone have thoughts on that or some experience there?
