I (honestly) do not mean to cast negative ions on the party. I have concerns. Why did Howard Hughes leave or not leave his business empire to a random man that picked him up hitchhiking? Where was the planning regarding the empires future? I want to continue to be a part of a future I helped to define just as 1000's of others have also done.

Because this ATS isn’t the empire it was made out to be. All I it is now, is just a community of really good people (for the most part)

The guy has a point about the downturn. My concern isn't whether or not you guys obtain ownership of the site, but it's that if you do, are you all willing to commit to weeding out the toxicity and return it to its former glory? If lost cause antiques/vintage stuff can be restored to working order, then this site can surely be polished up and returned to that heyday glory.

So you're calling for censorship. There are many posters here whom I see as negative and I disagree with their view points, HOWEVER, I am an advocate of free and open speech and do not support the removal of anyone based simply upon my or anyone's dislike of them.

I appreciate an alternate point of view and especially if it gives me consideration to change my current view for that is truly the essence of evolution. The mods have been good about weeding out legitimate trolls for the most part.

Well, you can claim the house has every right to burn down as is pleases, but it's generally better for the people residing in it, to put out the fire and fix the damage. Otherwise it's just a shell of it's former self, and no one wants to bunk in that.

So are we getting true free speech once it is taking over or do we still have to submissively follow local jurisdiction and/or T&Cs and have the same limited free speech fairytale?

Because ATS is not 'my' (as some mention 'your') free speech website as there are many topics that I can not discuss on here. It's the right of the owners to have these limitations and you would not hear me complain about it (other than now) or mention the topics. That's just a matter of respect and I'll discuss that in the places where I am allowed to do so. But ATS simply never was and I don't expect it will be a haven for free speech. As I simply do not expect it to go full anon decentralized out of any jurisdiction.

Btw the way the posts that criticize the plans are met shows. Do not criticize the ones keeping it alive. Loud and clear.

I have not been on this site in a long time. actively at least. I hope someone can save the site. its nice to come in now and again. if this site ever fades away, it will be missed. loved reading all the threads once upon a time.
