They just need him to hang on long enough to get to the convention... from there, anything can happen.

But I'm betting that Michelle Obama is on the ticket one way or another...

I think the “I’m picking a woman as VP”
Has morphed into he better pick a woman of color.

I think this will backfire spectacularly as the optics of this become more of a reality.

I think that is the popular narrative within Biden's circles. I believe the reality is that there are very few people that he could pick which would allow him to win. The Democrats would essentially be electing a VP. The only person I can think of that Biden could pick as a running mate might be Tulsi Gabbard. She is smart and a vet and has presence.

But, no worries. Joe and the DNC won't be nearly that smart.

I wouldn’t doubt if it were that sinister, but I think it’s more of Biden being a really safe bet to put forward when there’s a large part of the country looking for a return to normalcy. Throw up any milquetoast, old white dude who doesn’t really offer anything too far outside of what’s already been done in the last 25 years. Him being Obama’s VP is an even stronger reinforcement of that.

I agree with everything but the Michelle aspect. Maybe before the Floyd protests, but I think now they’re going to want someone younger in the picture. Their best bet is to get a young progressive in there who seems like they’re willing to shake things up. It’ll be a perfect counter to the old white dude who will bring absolutely nothing new to the table.

I DID NOT say the republicans cheated by voting by mail...just that the voters voted by mail in Florida for many years and it has been successful for the republican party....AGAIN I did not say the republican voters cheated in any way, but you jumped to that conclusion

Well, you seem to have intimated that the Republican party specifically benefited from mail-in balloting, and that would suggest to me that there was something amiss in the process. If they would have won anyway if the same people had voted by showing up at the ballot boxes, then they did not actually benefit from mail-in ballots, they benefited from voters selecting them over opposing candidates. If more people voted because of mail-in ballots, then they may have indirectly benefited, but that same indirect benefit would have been equally accessible to the Democrat party, so there was no real, direct benefit to one party or the other, just a more available, open election.

Now, I should be clear that I do see that there are instances where a mail-in ballot is needful. My wife and I live abroad, so we do our voting in absentee. It's good for it to be available for certain cases (people who live abroad, military, invalids who cannot leave home, etc.), but to institutionalize it and make it then norm is dangerous.

Indeed, there have been cases where it was abused. I remember thousands of mail-in ballots in a presidential election of recent years (forget which one) here a whole mess of military mail-in ballots had been "overlooked."

And I very much agree with this!

Who better than Michelle??? Her approval numbers are even better than her husband's. Especially in these times, she is the trifecta: Black, Female, and an Obama.

The plan doesn't work unless there is enough "mail in" voting in swing states. There are plans for making that happen if enough of those state governors can be bribed, or blackmailed.

my theory is that, they hope joe wins, then 3 months in he resigns due to mental health reasons and bam we have a black female president. whether it be, michael obama, stacey abrams or kamala harris remains to be seen.

I would agree, EXCEPT the Old Dem Guard needs one of their own in there to take care of unfinished business... Young people are notorious for making lots of noise and then not bothering to actually vote. So the party really can't count on the younger people to get their person elected. And I don't think older voters will take a chance on a young punk in these times. They'll want someone who knows what they're doing and has some gravitas. I think Michelle will be the "middle ground" so to speak. She's only 20 years older than the youngest person they could possibly find who is actually qualified, but 30 years younger than Biden and Pelosi, etc. Still young enough to appeal to the youngsters and hipsters... old enough and established enough to appeal to the middle-aged and boomers.

She will campaign as thee one and only who can "heal" the racial divide and unite us... along with her half-White hubby, which makes her daughters quarter-White of course, so who better to build that bridge than the Black wife and mother in a mixed family??? Her campaign slogans will practically write themselves in an effort to appeal to all "reasonable" and "peaceful" voters...

Still amazed how millions of dedicated, loyal, rabid, Bernie Sanders's supporters simply turned to Jello, when Biden told them to. Biden is indeed powerful, as the emperor has foreseen.

Indeed.

They should have learned after the 2016 betrayal.

But Orange Man bad and all that.

Curiously enough, that is also one of my yardsticks of political worthiness. Yes, it's just that important.
