I never heard of it, thanks for the thread, S&F. I just joined, Stosh64 there too. I never had a twitter acct and just recently got my 1st FB account, strictly for family contacts.
I will be following closely, however at this point I agree it sounds to good to be true.
Time will tell, and WTF, with ATS in its death throes maybe Parler can be my new go-to website.

Still processing that last sentence...EVERY day for the last 12 years, more often than not a couple hours a day spent on this website. Going to be tough to replace.

Parler has been around for a few years now, they compete with Gab.

Neither platfrom are a threat to twitter.

Seems like uncensored voices would be extremely marketable in the future. What we have now is disgusting.

Twitter was about dead until Trump showed up from what I read. Trump can't be said in the news without Tweet most of the time. If he switched to another platform all his followers and enemies would jump over.

Really sad what happened to Twitter. It was suppose to be a way to report real news from people in the trenches and close to the situation. Believe it's how Bin Laden's location was revealed.

This Parler doesn't have that much traffic unfortunately. Needs to get in the 10's of millions to be anything substantial. Nowhere near that number. People seem content with giving a few companies the reigns for some reason. Probably because people in general are fairly ignorant.

I don't believe people will let go of twitter immediately. I also question how many of those users are real.

Facebook had a story suggesting that as much as 50% of their ads were being viewed by robots rather than people which created an over inflated ad view count. This translated into more money for facebook. Inflated numbers just attracted higher ad costs which translated into higher stock prices.

Twitter's community is toxic and dangerous to regular people. It is a radicalization factory and it should be viewed with caution and extreme skepticism.

As you know, and I know you know because you have posted
in the thread, Google and Twitter and the other silicon valley
"ministries of truth" have taken aim at free speech and have
basically all but silenced free speech on the internet.
In turn, they control ad revenue and that affects all
small sites that had allowed a counter narrative.

Most people never heard of gab , but if the POTUS switches to a new platform it could be a game changer with the publicity.

Horrible name parler and i dont like that they want your phone number to register.
