"Veteran stage and film actor Sir Ian Holm, who played Bilbo Baggins in The Lord of the Rings films, has died at the age of 88."

Quite the year this is turning out to be.

RIP Ash and Bilbo. You will be sorely missed.

I was thinking Bruce Campbell's character from the Evil Dead franchise.

For some reason, I cannot get the part where he tries to jam the rolled up magazine into Ripley's mouth out of my head. It always messes with me. I can't figure out where that part came from.

I still don't understand why they even had magazines in the future.

It's the same thing I think about Picard's bald head. Why?

Sisko was bald too.

I have less trouble with bald. Fashion choice.

It's an odd choice, as a dude the only thing I want bald is my back.

I think Ridley Scott said it had some sexual undertones, and how machines/androids would handle such things. That nude poster in the background during that scene isn't there by mistake.

H.R. Geiger's creature is absolutely sexual, so it wouldn't surprise me. I never connected it with sex though, not consciously if I did. It just seemed ... WTF? You're an android and you can't think of a better way to kill her?!

Classically trained, had to stop performing theater in '76 due to acute stage fright.

Very good actor and will be missed
