I'm thinking about copy and pasting ever reply I ever made so I can keep them.

I appreciate the honesty but hate the reality..

a) create a pledge or a banner asking members to disable ad blockers for the future of the site. I'm sure some don't realize them blocking ads is causing the demise - key members would do it, those who don't - well you'd never stop them all

b) gofundme, gofundme, gofundme

c) create a mobile platform

d) utilize members and their skill sets to help manage the site if they can volunteer - I imagine costs are domain/infrastructure/security/database/legal related

e) offer a paid monthly system for members by choice- in which they're given banner 'somethings' to indicate they're a paid member

f) create a Facebook/twitter style advertisement or banner and encourage members to put it up time to time to encourage more users

g) possible to move the datacentre aspects to cheaper locales, ie Philippines?

h) in a world where everything's being PC'd and toned down, pride yourself on being that one place people can express opinions without retaliation (within reason of course, no racism, sexism etc etc)

i) ats merch - bumper stickers - phone covers -

j) paid functions/meetups/excursions (ie roswell)

... don't go... this is the longest relationship I've ever had!

ATS is the Library of Congress online as far as conspiracy theorists go.

I don’t think the toxic political rhetoric has helped but sounds to me more about the reality of a changing advertising market.

The advertising market is the point in regards to the Pit. Too volatile. That was the point.

I don't know if there's any veracity to it, but it's interesting to consider, since when the advertising market was fine ATS had a lot more substance.

Then again, as SO said, 2/3 of visitors blocking ads doesn't help, which keeps advertisers at bay.

I can easily do a paid membership if such a thing were to happen.

Out of curiosity. I remember a few years back you had a similar issue and there was this PayPal banner for donations. (to which I objected as that would share unneeded personal information and I suggested crypto.)

Now that crypto is not as anon as it used to be my point is not valid in that sense. But how much did that donation round help ATS out and would a similar round be in the realm of legit possibilities?
