Stupid actions seem to have real world consequences and perhaps this is one of them. Not only is property value dropping in these cities and everyone who is not on board with the defund/abolish the police movement is getting the hell out of dodge as soon as they can.
If this happens supply lines to these cities will be cut and they will die even more. Multiple Detroits across the usa . Maybe it's all attempt to drive the property value down so someone can buy it all up on the cheap that is one theory I have been thinking about.

We asked drivers on the app, “Would you pick up/deliver to cities with defunded or disbanded police departments? Why or why not?”

As of June 13, 2020, we’ve had over 1,283 respondents and 79% say they will refuse loads to cities with disbanded or defunded police departments.

CDL LIFE NEWS

this is the only source I could find on it right now but it seems legit. I can see truckdrivers refusing to go these cities.

whats your thought ATS?

Why the hell would any truck driver want to drive his $150k livelihood into a war zone?

I don't blame them. They have to go into a lot of really rough areas in order to do their jobs.

Im just learning and I didn't know this until now.

labor statistics ranks it as one of the top teir dangerous jobs.

Yeah they are not going to put any more needed risk on their lives.

A lot of them have family's they are not going to risk their lives to deliver to a gang warlord zone.

Understandable, there is something called work place safety and I hope the truckers are covered by that, under these circumstances.

What makes you think it will be a warzone simply because they defund the police?

Career criminals are, or will soon be, relocating to urban areas where there are no traditional police officers.

I think Minneapolis just converted their police force to 100% meter maids.

Because social workers will not stop rioters and looters.

There are close to 4,000,000 CDL's in the United States. A thousand saying they wouldn't do something isn't exactly a big concern.

If they don't want the money someone else will.

Neither do I. They drive in, get ripped off, get attacked by people acting like rampaging monkeys, run one over ... and you get arrested.

Nope. Not even worth the time.

because the threat of force is the only thing that keeps humans under control, without it they don't take the law seriously.

Really? So you think police have always been around in every district in America? Wonder how people ever got goods before then. Continue living in your little world where you think Police are stopping crime.

they've been driving through and delivering in places which already have defunct police forces.

this is not the first time police forces were dismantled.]

The fear mongering is strong, eh? Always absolute worst case scenario... and the presumption that defunding/disbanding police necessarily equals no law enforcement whatsoever.

This may be the strongest sign that the defund/disband police movement has some real momentum. Along with the increasing number of mayors/police chiefs promising reform.

Who said anything about social workers?

Society works and worked for thousands of year before police were invented.

The proposed plan is to defund the police and fund social programs.

sure there wasn't always police but disorder was always a big problem so police forces were developed in response eventually.
