So here is the thing, there is police brutality and excessive force happening for sure, but the reason excessive force is being used in all these cases is because you have large men struggling against the police when being taken into custody. The man shot at the Wendy's struggled with police and took a taser and aimed at an officer, not sure if you saw the second video but the 2 officers could not contain him with non-lethal force and they tried.

I think any police officer will tell you if a person steals his taser and that the person aims at you like he is going to fire, he is going to draw his side arm and fire. My point is this, if too many cops are fired they might band together and strike saying we can't do our jobs anymore because of political interference.
Shooting people in the back as they run away is really bad, putting a knee on the neck is for over 5 minutes is bad.
But police need to be able to take criminals into custody without fear of getting hurt themselves, because they can't apply enough force or a weapon may be used against them. It's a difficult time for police in America, fire the bad ones for sure, but the good ones still need to be able to their jobs.

And if political pressures mount against them too much they might just say ok we are going to strike in solidarity against the political system.
And then we would really have a mess in every major city.

Cool.

Tell them to take the teacher's union and anyone else on the municipal payroll that wants to go as well. On the way to their strike have them drop off a check at my house since they don't need the taxpayer's money anymore.

I have also heard that many officers might just
leave their jobs for good.Who will enforce the
laws then? My gut tells me that this could lead
to the U.N. peacekeepers being brought in.

A strike would really irk people.

Therefore, I think they should strike, but only in the neighborhoods that dogpile them the worst, the most consistently. At least for a week at most, let those neighborhoods squirm a bit and reflect on why tossing the baby out with the bathwater isn't the brightest move to make.

So in places like New York and Chicago how would you like to control the criminal elements ?

Oh well. Let them do what they gotta do. And the rest of us will do what we gotta do.

That's not much of a threat when the people are more afraid of the police than the thugs they're supposed to be protecting us from.

Perhaps more important, threatening to hold the people hostage when their abuse of force and power is being challenged really isn't doing them any favors. "Really? You don't like that jackboot on your neck? Well here... let me grind it in a little bit more and show you who's boss..."

I do hope they have the decency to quit, rather than keep taking the taxpayers money while refusing to do the job.

Maybe that is the goal for the New World Order globalists.

If officers flee the job and cities keep a police force running, they'll be hiring mall cops that don't have jobs anymore. You think police abuse is bad now? Wait until mall cops get real badges and guns.

Lot of people out of work right now. Couldn't the governors say # it and just hire other people?
And then only hire those that will follow whatever reform is being made?

Not sure what the law is about strikes but in today's world and especially in this case i wouldn't be surprised if the cops on strike get fired.

Or the state or city creates a new police force while the current police force strikes. This worked in camden.

Moved by the need for reform but also unhappy about throwing good money after bad, then-Gov. Chris Christie along with local officials embarked on a complete overhaul of policing services. They created a new public-safety department within the Camden County government, dedicated to policing Camden city. The old department was disbanded.

The result: Overall violent crime peaked in 2011 and has since dropped by 46 percent. Murders, after peaking in 2012, are down by a whopping 62 percent.

Who knows if those numbers are real but If the people that live there are saying it worked why not try it in the places that are having issues?

That is all

Oh HELL NO! The U.N. will show up in this country to enforce laws over my dead body!!

Those are the kinds of things the National Guard was created for. And they would be used first. Otherwise there would be a real insurrection by the American people!

Bad idea.

Politicians will just nationalize the police force, creating. . . . you guessed it.

A police-state.

Yep, bring in American military to keep the peace. That's a great idea too.

I think people in the neighborhoods who don't want cops, should be allowed to live without them.

Unintended consequence some of you should love:

Perhaps Americans will get a new appreciation for the value of the Second Amendment.

Hmmmm?

You folks do realize that police forces weren't a thing at all until the later half of the 19th century, right?

In fact, most of the parts of government we "can't live without" we've only had the last 100 years.

The more you know.

Good, they can go!

I'm tired of police claiming their job is so damn hard and they need to do stupid things and have more-equal rights than anyone else to do it. If it's so bad then why have they stayed up until now?

Just look at this recent incident with Brooks in Atlanta. The police 100% escalated that by their words and actions leading up to the handcuffing. And then folks claim "what are they supposed to do?" Clearly not that!

And then they kept the fire department away from the Wendy's because it wasn't safe? So much for serving and protecting and running toward danger when others run away. Police only do what police do when they know their chances are excellent they won't get hurt. As soon as a man runs away from them with a non-lethal weapon they shoot him out of fear.

Bye!

Nah. What you will find is most places will be just fine without Officer Bully rolling around doing nothing more than ticketing people for revenue or collecting evidence for it sit in a file and never be touched again.

Look at your local PD clearance rates and let me know if it's good value for money.
