Sucked Into It

Dammit! I keep getting sucked into this damned Mud-Pit!

Let me out! I have the same amount of political power as just about everybody else, which is just about none. My opinions are no more useful or valid than anyone else's -- I mean, except for those of the obvious dopes. But I know deep down that I can't do anything other than take care of my own and wait for things to settle back down. So why do I bother engaging?

Simple solution. Just stop posting. And reading, since all it does is angry up the blood and I don't find it all that entertaining anymore. I think that's my best option. Opt-out.

What political wing is that? "Left?" "Right?" I don't want to have anything to do with either extreme. Yeah. Opt-out. Maybe just stick with the paranormal and UFO stuff.

What do you use it for?

Oh, I just use it for entertainment. I'm under no delusion that my opinion or my post will somehow show the misguided among us the error of their ways or proclaim that I'm the wisest guy in the room (I'm not, and you aren't either).

Because people are locked in. Nobody's changing anybody's opinion, we just pick and choose what conforms to what we already believe. And that's boring. It's exactly like talking about religion with somebody who considers themselves religious. It's just a huge, boring waste of time. Which is growing increasingly to the point where it's no longer entertaining but rather a dreary slog.
