Congo declares second outbreak of Ebola virus

The Congo is the place that had the measles outbreak in 2019 and claimed 6800 deaths . They have been fighting COVID and have had 72 reported deaths out of only 3200 reported cases. Not to bad IMO. Now comes another Ebola outbreak ....let us hope this is stopped before it gets out of hand.

June 1 (UPI) -- As the Democratic Republic of the Congo neared declaring an Ebola outbreak in its eastern provinces over, health officials on Monday announced a new cluster has emerged on the other side of the African nation.

It is unclear how the outbreak began in the western port city of Mbandaka, but at least five people have died from the disease, officials said.

The World Health Organization first reported four deaths to the virus followed by UNICEF stating in a release that five people, including a 15-year-old girl, had died between May 18 and Sunday when health officials confirmed they were Ebola-related fatalities.

No! Just no. Please put this news away until 2021. 2020 is booked solid, no room. All joking aside, I wonder if it will just stay a local problem. Maybe having the tight border restrictions can help stifle this thing. Thank god it's not Wuhan. Just my 0.02.

Yeah, this ebola is much much worse than covid, we don't want this escaping out of Africa or out of the Congo.

This is one thing that bugs me when I see those illegals arriving by boat via Congo via Somalia via Libya via Italy via France...

I'm no expert but I think ebola kills too quickly, and the symptoms are unmistakable.

Ebola is a terrible killer in 3rd world countries, but would be contained fairly quickly in a 1st world country.

that is the one saving grace about ebola...it burns out REALLY fast before too many people can catch it and a dam
good thing too with the high mortality rate for those who do catch it

Doom porn. Why are they crying Ebola. 2019 the Ebola outbreak killed just over 1,000 out of 101,000,000 yet malaria killed 27,000, measles killed over 1,000. It must be time to put in for more aid.

Gee, is there a “season” like the flu?? (A: Yes, there actually is. So the swelling in cases is known).

The thing that will get us all is when we are about to eradicate it off the face of the planet. That is the test. Us or them.

At this point, viruses don’t seem to be nearly as political as the naked monkeys! Maybe I will join the “virus” party this year!!
