I reserve my right to resist tyranny .

Article 11 says....Article 11: Any act directed against a person, apart from the cases and without the forms determined by law, is arbitrary and tyrannical; if attempt is made to execute such act by force, the person who is the object thereof has the right to resist it by force.

According to the Declaration of Independence, the only legitimate governments are those with the consent of the governed. When a government becomes the enemy and not the defender of human rights, the people can withdraw their consent and set up a new government.

tyranny - The Free Dictionary.

This is a health emergency due to an epidemic. It isn't a lie. It also isn't something that puts a despot in power.

No-one is being chipped or poisoned.

"Consent of the governed."

Would that be the majority consensus, or the loudest? Most people want to be safe.

"Enemy and not defender of human rights." Most people want human rights, and while that includes the right to be free and live one's life, it also includes the right to be safe.

Nevermind the fact that The Declaration of Independence doesn't carry the weight of law.

Epidemic of what? Old people that are already going to die — dying?

Please show us the data that makes this any worse than any other ‘epidemic’ that’s been vomited on us in the last couple decades.

I’m guessing you have serious pre-existing health conditions. With a nice pension....

Dude, you are in New Zealand. What did you experience during your lock down ? My niece was over there for school and had to leave because the schools closed and housing for students closed. You really don't know what is going on over here. Did you turn in all your guns after the mass shooting over there? No, because you probably didn't have any and follow your leaders blindly. we question our leadership, and have in place rights to act accordingly.

Telling you, you are drinking the Koolaid. Hospitals have been empty here. Testing sites have been empty here. Cause of death is always covid, not for any other reason. Die of a heart attack and tested positive for covid, complications from covid. And so on . You are not here to witness it first hand. They , the MSM , have begun ramping up cases of kids with covid, when in fact it is something totally different . They mislead you into believing the bull crap. I have been out everyday since day one, and all of my co workers have never had it, nor myself or my wife, and I should have been with all the places I go in a large city.

I work in an essential industry and worked every business day during the 'Level 4' lockdown. The commute, however, was divine.

Student housing in New Zealand never closed. In fact, there was legislation to protect them. Coronavirus Covid-19 lockdown: Rents frozen and evictions banned under emergency legislation - New Zealand Herald.

Most New Zealanders have no need for a gun because we don't have to defend ourselves from as many armed criminals as the US has. The downside of arming everyone means that the criminal element takes up guns, disproportionally to the law-abiding citizens. Nor was the ban on semi-automatic assault weapons in New Zealand a total ban on all guns.

"Soft despotism is a term coined by Alexis de Tocqueville describing the state into which a country overrun by "a network of small complicated rules" might degrade. Soft despotism is different from despotism (also called 'hard despotism') in the sense that it is not obvious to the people.

Soft despotism gives people the illusion that they are in control, when in fact they have very little influence over their government. Soft despotism breeds fear, uncertainty, and doubt in the general populace. Alexis de Tocqueville observed that this trend was avoided in America only by the "habits of the heart" of its 19th-century populace."

Student housing for foreigners was closed. Not going to argue about the rest because the State of Kentucky are a bunch of gun toting red necks who enjoy hunting and fishing for fun,our problem is with certain "cultures" within the city. Louisville to be exact. Our population is just slightly smaller than your whole country. We just don't like our right's stepped on, and it has gone on long enough.

So, I am done with you....

New Zealand is an independent country. It was made so, on the UK side, under the Statute of Westminster 1931.

We do have a Constitution.

But at the same time, it's not a lie man.
I lost 2 friends now to this covid crap.
I want this all to be done and over also, but honestly Groot, things are bad in some places.

We only have 77 people infected in my town so far.
27 of those infected were coworkers of mine.
2 of the men that died, we're friends of mine.

Young people die of a lot of things. The underlying suggestion of your statement is that young people do not die, lets' say, form the flu for example.

These are the current stats for NZ

confirmed 1,153.............recovered 1,442................dead 21.

The crushing poverty that's about to arrive at your doorstep will kill and a heap more, if it hasn't already and the virus will still be there. The governments of NZ and AUS remind me of the words of Albert Camus;

"The welfare of the people in particular has always been the alibi of tyrants, and it provides the further advantage of giving the servants of tyranny a good conscience."

Except it's not a health emergency.

The mortality rate simply doesn't support that statement.

Even if it was, declaring one does not mean infringing on rights.

Man, so sorry to hear that. I never denied it was a killer, but was it worse than the flu, cancer, car accidents and so on . Is it worth closing down economies , putting people out of work . Did we shut down the world when aids and hiv and all the other diseases that came after that? Why this and why now? I can throw all kinds of numbers out there to show, but if you really want to know, search for yourself. How many cases of other diseases have been attributed to covid , but wasn't really the case?
