Well seems more information is out each day.

theohiostar.com...

President Barack Obama’s Treasury Department regularly surveilled retired Army Lt. Gen. Michael T. Flynn’s financial records and transactions beginning in December 2015 and well into 2017, before, during and after when he served at the White House as President Donald Trump’s National Security Director, a former senior Treasury Department official, and veteran of the intelligence community, told the Star Newspapers.

Wow 2015 to 2017?

By March 2016, the whistleblower said she and a colleague, who was detailed to Treasury from the intelligence community, became convinced that the surveillance of Flynn was not tied to legitimate criminal or national security concerns, but was straight-up political surveillance among other illegal activity occurring at Treasury.

“When I showed it to her, what she said, ‘Oh, sh%t!’ and I knew right then and there that I was right – this was some shady stuff,” the whistleblower said.

“It wasn’t just him,” the whistleblower said. “They were targeting other U.S. citizens, as well.”

All kinds of dirty dirty going on.

The whistleblower said Treasury should never have been part of the unmasking of Flynn, because its surveillance operation was off-the-books. That is to say, the Justice Department never gave the required approval to the Treasury program, and so there were no guidelines, approvals nor reports that would be associated with a DOJ-sanctioned domestic surveillance operation.

“Accessing this information without approved and signed attorney general guidelines would violate U.S. persons constitutional rights and civil liberties,” she said.

Well it appears some in the obama administration have their tail in a crack.
Stand by for incoming civil rights violation lawsuits.

I guess that's how they found out that Flynn was a secret agent being paid by Turkey to represent Turkey's interest.

Too bad they did so illegally.
The treasury departments work was done without doj approval.
Black Nixons surveillance state.

And exactly how was flynn a "secret agent"?
That is truly funny.
A fara violation does not make one a "secret agent"
Lol
That is rich

Obama certainly took Chicago politics to the beltway.

To be fair, had it been a Hillary Clinton presidency, Flynn would have died under mysterious circumstances.

That sounds like a better fiction story then the whole "RussiaGate" thing you championed for so long.

Seriously... any outrage over the crimes committed by the previous administration?

Or just another day of BAMN for you?

/facepalm

To the OP....

At this point, what does it actually matter?

We know crimes were committed and there is no political will to indict the ones doing it.

So our government will just get worse and worse and worse no matter who is "running" it.

Why do some whistle-blowers hide, like Eric Ciaramella did with his Trump-Ukraine phone call complaint? While others love being in the limelight, like HHS whistle-blower Rick Bright did last week?

Without indictments, the MSM won't cover Obama-Biden admin crimes, so 90% of America will never know about them.

Flynn didn't join the Trump Campaign until February 2016.

If they were surveiling him in 2015, they likely had a reason.

Like, you know, his illegal work done for a foreign government, that sort of thing.

It matters because the illegal activity was reported.
And then buried.
People saw the crimes and reported them.

Seems Lois Learner and the urs WERE targeting political rival for purely political reasons.

Lol
So much for black nixons "not a smidgen of corruption " quote about the irs.

El oh el
When was that "illegal work"?
Funny you justify illegal surveillance because of politics.
Or maybe not so funny.
BAMN eh?

The linked report says for no reason.

Yep
Vindman

Thanks for bringing that up.
This whistleblower is just as credible, no?
Just as brave and courageous, right?

Yeah yeah.

Is 2015 is before 2016 still, in Trumplandia?

Then it doesn't have anything to do with the Trump Campaign; it does have plenty to do with Michael Flynn and his dishonesty. Proven dishonesty.

Treasury had no authority .

Way to justify a despot!

Well done!

The problem with this case is that Flynn had pushed HARD for years for a full audit of our intelligence communities.

He had some serious run-ins with them politically before.

So he was the enemy of the Deep State, as it were.

Which is exactly why they framed him and got him out of his White House gig.

Since it seems that prior to that, even illegal surveillance couldn't come up with anything substantial enough to take him down.

Our intelligence communities have not had an actual audit since the mid 1970's.

Wonder what they don't want us to know?

I also wonder why any American citizen in their right mind would be against that audit?

I don't know. Did this whistleblower file a report with the IG? Was this whistleblower vetted by an IG? Was this whistleblowers complaint forwarded to Congress? Did this whistleblower testify before Congress?

The source in the OP states clearly that the Whistleblower took this to the Treasury IG in 2017 after the Trump regime took control.

Nothing was done about the complaint under Trump. Makes one wonder.

So this is why he went to prison? With all that illegal activities it must have been easy to convict him.

Do they still have to convict you when you plead?

Ask Trump. He's the one who fired Flynn for lyiing to Pence.

To be honest I am suprised flynn hasn't succumbed to covid 19 or some other convenient method.
He definitely got some angry.
An audit would do such.
