It is not something that I discover: the good people in this life suffer more. Try to do good, to be good, to pray more, and you will certainly meet the suffering and misfortune in life. Maybe there are exceptions. But the people I know make no exception of that rule.

On the other side, we can see notorious evildoers to prosper in life, mostly on the news but also in our personal lives. The theological answer is: "god as being just rewards them in this life for the few good things they have done, so he can punish them eternally in the next life".
That answer frankly Sucks!

Rather, the red and purple hats should admit it is satan who is in control of this planet. And if they don't admit it when it is obvious, we may ask ourselves, is it so because they themselves have pledged allegiance to him, under some form? (even if not directly Faust-like). How could we explain centuries of suffering that the "holy church" imposed on countless millions of people? It is not only the burning of the Inquisition, apparent satanic ritual and institution that makes one shiver that has been done "in the name of the merciful god who so much loved the world". And notice the burning was the final stage of days/weeks of torture on special torture instruments. So much of the sanctity of the church in the middle ages that now some fanatics want to revert back to it and to double cross any meaningful reform.

But it is not only about the inquisition. It is also the miserable lifestyle of the loyal subjects of the christian monarchs that spent their entire life for so many generations in hard work and suffering, to fulfill "god's will". Instead with all those efforts for 20 centuries to build up a more just society where everyone will have food and the available medicines at the time.

But everything has its reward, and the human history - its end, we are told by those same red and purple hats. Let read what the catechesis of the catholic church writes about the notorious end times and the antichrist:

"The Antichrist's deception already begins to take shape in the world every time the claim is made to realize within history that messianic hope which can only be realized beyond history through the eschatological judgment. The Church has rejected even modified forms of this falsification of the kingdom to come under the name of millenarianism, especially the "intrinsically perverse" political form of a secular messianism."

So everyone who tries to move an inch towards fulfilling the kingdom of God that Jesus talked about on the mount, is apriori condemned as a follower of the antichrist? Does it mean the catholic church (and others to lesser degree) from the beginning have actually followed satan, and not the teaching of Love of Lord Jesus? If they incriminate as the worst sin the very thing to help the world to build up what Jesus talked about, a fraternal society with love and mutual help, of sharing the abundance of the fruits of this earth? Is that the worst enemy of the church, those very few monarchs in the past and politicians today who would want to build up the promised God's kingdom?

What is it that the red hats know and we don't? Perhaps there is something very important, if they are so sure in their absurd positions for nearly 2 thousand years. How about some final cataclysm that the church leaders know to come, but keep silence only not to lose the grip spiritual on power? About the famous third secret of Fatima that was consequently grossly falsified, we read the words of John Paul II said in Fulda Germany:

"Given the seriousness of the contents, my predecessors in the Petrine office diplomatically preferred to postpone publication so as not to encourage the world power of Communism to make certain moves.
On the other hand, it should be sufficient for all Christians to know this: if there is a message in which it is written that the oceans will flood whole areas of the earth, and that from one moment to the next millions of people will perish, truly the publication of such a message is no longer something to be so much desired.”

What more to comment, if even the best pope in the last centuries have opted not to tell the truth, or in fact he is telling us the truth under that cover?

Let not be afraid if the salvation of humanity passes through extraterrestrial rescue mission. Is that what the church is afraid of and hides for millenia (because they know perfectly ancient books such as Sumerian and maybe others we have never heard about). We may reasonably ask, why they are doing it? Is it because the church fathers opted to serve the evil extraterrestrials? The ones that should be called satan and devils? Let their actions TODAY speak of their intentions tomorrow. Because I don't have two lives to sacrifice one for their evil deceit. I will not bet my future and that of the future generations on failed ideologies and bloody history.
God of Love and Mercy is much more than that.

Most people are born selfish and think it is a race to accumulate as much as possible for security and give and share as little as possible unless it is an investment in themselves.

Religion is irrelevant unless you consider it is used to make endless excuses.

ps..I love you.

How many bad people do you associate with?

Get some more bastards as friends and you will see that suffering is spread more evenly.

Psalms 37 brings me comfort

“Do not be agitated by evildoers; do not envy those who do wrong. For they wither quickly like grass and wilt like tender green plants. Trust in the Lord and do what is good; dwell in the land and live securely.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭37:1-3‬ ‭HCSB‬‬ www.bible.com...

“I have seen a wicked, violent man well-rooted like a flourishing native tree. Then I passed by and noticed he was gone; I searched for him, but he could not be found. Watch the blameless and observe the upright, for the man of peace will have a future. But transgressors will all be eliminated; the future of the wicked will be destroyed.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭37:35-38‬ ‭HCSB‬‬ www.bible.com...

It has been an old saying here in the southern US (one that I use) "no good deed goes unpunished"
And that is and has been satan's work...
The evil old satan hates good deeds.

Good questions.

I'm not sure yet...

Maybe it's a test of faith and fortitude to prove you won't change sides even if you see how profitable it could be?

Remember - the universe is an illusion because everything changes. But that substance that underlines all things is real because it does not change.

Theoretically good things should happen to those close to God, not the opposite so there must be an explanation or resolution to this conundrum...

Ok I've always thought it may seem like what you said might be true but...

I started thinking more about it awhile and I'm pretty sure we technically must be wrong about this somehow??

I'm pretty sure we're blind to 99.9999% of all truth and facts so considering the equation I'm certain we've got it wrong.

Think of the odds.
We simply don't know much anything for sure yet about even basic stuff. I'm wrong about # everyday.

We're missing critical elements of the puzzle.

That's easy, spiritual growth is more valuable than gold.

But this whole thought process is based on "what do I get". If you're claiming spirituality and asking "what do I get" your spirituality is lacking.

Most times ppl do good things when they're put on the spot and have to make a decision quickly.

Ummm an example, I met this guy like a month ago as I walked out the gas station...

He was a ex con, covered in tats, MS13, and had a very violent history. But while in prison he learned the Bible and can quote 100s of passages very quickly.

Anyways, he asked me if I'd buy him a soda, so instead I gave him my huge new soda, like 6 cigs, and all this food.

Why'd I give him half my stuff?

Several reasons:
1) that kinda stuff is easy to replace
2) he looked like he was suffering
3) I was really wondering if he was an angel or alien wearing a human disguise. He said some cosmic # so?
4) it felt really good to hug him (twice) and give him moral support

I was actually doing it for my own personal reasons.

So please remember - there's no way to escape the self. So since you'll always be selfish the aim is to transmute your selfish desires (lead) into something that actually benefits and helped others. To do good things and make a better today and tomorrow.

Ultimately you'll find every last human was hedonistic and all decisions emanate from their self-perspective. We are by default selfish.

So therefore the ultima materia of the alchemist was actually his 'self'. To transform from a lump of lead into gold. Quite a process, very long drawn out and painful.

Isn't the whole point of spiritualism to transcend the self?

The idea that closeness to God means an easy life is proven wrong over and over again. And worse, it's a childish viewpoint.

Read the bible, if God is talking to ya you're gonna do some terrible things, or have terrible things done to you.

age old question

Jeremiah 12 Tree of Life Version (TLV)
Why do the Wicked Prosper?

12 Righteous are You, Adonai,
when I plead my case with You.
Yet I speak with You about justice.
Why does the way of the wicked prosper?
Why do all the treacherous thrive?
2
You planted them, so they have taken root.
They are growing, bearing fruit.
You are near in their mouth,
yet far from their mind.

Here is another story Jesus told: “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a farmer who planted good seed in his field. 25 But that night as the workers slept, his enemy came and planted weeds among the wheat, then slipped away.

I don't believe there's supposed to "be a point to spiritualism". That seems like a dogmatic and narrow view of doctrine.

And I don't think the point of the OP was about getting everything easily.

He/She wanted to know if good things are supposed to happen to good ppl, and the answer is theoretically yes.
+ Leads to +
And
- leads to -

Number systems have to be coherent, systematic, and predictable.

So doing good equals good and doing bad equals more bad. It's logic.

The OP is pissed that on the surface at least, temporarily, that it seems bad equals good and good equals bad and it's frustrating I agree lol.

Stop being a 'do gooder'. Everyone has a path that enjoins suffering with struggle. Stop 'interfering' by thinking you are lightening their Karmic load. It never works as hinders or prolongs more suffering (another life incarnates to correct Karmic pratfalls).

"And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple." Luke 14:27 - this is NOT the way the Jews talked at the time of Peter, certainly NOT before Jesus' crucifixion. The Cross was NOT venerated yet, on contrary, the apostles were afraid to even ASK Jesus when he talked of His crucifixion. How then he allegedly "told" them to carry "their own crosses" when the word cross did not mean the daily sufferings in life? This is early Christian ideology put back in the gospels to justify itself...

It further contradicts the entire idea that Jesus died for our sins once and for all, if we all must carry our own crosses everyday until we die!?! Where is then the significance of His unique sacrifice???

And why should we consider the removal of the Original sin through His death and through our baptism that symbolizes it, if the result of the Original sin - the evil inclination in humans, and the punishment for it - a daily suffering until one lives, are still here?

As Paul said, "And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins!" 1 Corinthians 15:17

I do not understand why after Jesus' resurrection, that I believe, we are still talking of personal suffering, not as the natural way of life that obviously is not possible to change, but as additional suffering for the conversion of the world, that God would give to exactly His followers and not to the evil people? Isn't it quite satanic such attitude?

And that goes back to the early question. Maybe the early church diverted from the original teaching of Jesus, a teaching of love, brotherhood and sharing that ALLEVIATES the existing suffering by removing that personal inflicted evil and injustice, and not Increasing it as the early christian theology insisted. Indeed, it would be difficult to argue infront of Caesars that the slaves and the workers are brothers in Christ who should be alleviated of taxes... It is easy to make Constantinian Christianity in ready palaces but difficult to make the life of the common people just bearable, even if we cannot remove all the suffering and disease.

And it is so easy and satanically perverted to call any attempt to do that betterment in history, "the spirit of the coming antichrist"! Those bright minds who invented that and who repeat it until today under various forms, something that Jesus NEVER EVER TALKED OF, those evil minds exchange the Gospel of Love with the gospel of Satan, apriori excluding any attempt of building God's kingdom even parts of it, while waiting for the Judgment Day to build it! IMO they are already condemned by doing so.

And if they exchanged and hided so important elements of the teaching of Jesus, maybe they hided other important elements. Such as the role of the Angels who could remove stone, unchain Peter and transport Phillip by air. That doesn't sound as invisible spirits to me. Maybe the angels are something else, that the early church fathers made sure to hide and seal off from the so much rewritten gospels. I could say more and I did say more in other threads.

Hahaha, far too late to respond but I will anyway...

But you're correct, my view on spirituality is very narrow as I have none, so I'm limited to my misunderstanding of a concept people hold dear.

I agree, generally if you're nice then others will be. And generally bad actions bring bad consequences.

I think the moral is to be good because odds are it will help you. Don't be too good however, if you get God's attention you're in for a world of pain.

But if you're assuming your own greatness and worrying why you aren't rewarded... Be greater.

I've noticed a bit of both. I definitely see that my good acts and mental patterns have a beneficial return. That is undeniable. What is also undeniable is the bounty on my head by the adverse forces once I begin to adhere to the Divine Law. This should not worry us though, the more persistent we are refusing to do the things we know are wrong, the weaker these adverse compulsions become. Suffering is inevitable, but knowing that our suffering is like a seed pushing a shoot out of the pressure of the soil into the light - we rejoice knowing that the unveiling is inevitable.
