How is it experimental?

I've been taking it for the past couple of years for rheumatoid arthritis. Hasn't done me any harm, staves off the majority of flare-ups and allows me to lead a normal life.

It's been around for a good few decades and if taken as prescribed (as with any drug) is perfectly safe for most people.

Common hydroxychloroquine side effects include headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, loss of appetite, weight loss, feeling nervous or irritable, skin rash, itching, and hair loss.

For physicians on the frontlines, the question of whether to use a drug or other unproven medicines is among the most challenging they have faced.

They’re trained to make decisions based on rigorous data but have little to go on in treating patients with an entirely new disease.

Hydroxychloroquine is still unproven for treating Covid-19, and like any medicine, it has risks and side effects.

How is it experimental?

It is not approved by the FDA for treatment or prevention of Covid 19. In order to determine whether or not this drug is capable of preventing the virus from infecting a person, studies must be done. There is no scientific or medical data available to assert that the drug prevents the disease. It's still experimental because studies are just beginning.

As for whether or not the drug is successful in alleviating the symptoms the disease presents, those studies are also only in their early stages. That's why it's still an experimental drug, for the treatment and prevention of Covid 19.

The FDA has put some strong restrictions on when doctors can prescribe the drug, yet the president is urging people to use it for unproven and unauthorized uses, according to the FDA, and doctors to illegally prescribe it. The drug has some serious side effects and should only be used in serious situations, where the risk of taking the drug is offset by the threat of the disease.

He's got to be the first POTUS that tried to assassinate himself.

The Hydroxychloroquine might be a cry for help.

**not to be confused with fish tank cleaner folks - don't be that guy.

The left will now introduce a Bill banning Hydroxycloroquine.

New evidence proves that the wife of the engineer made up the claim that they were following Trump's advice just as an alibi. It didn't help her lie to the police when they both were democrats, or the fact that her husband was an engineer and according to his neighbors he was a very intelligent person who wouldn't believe that aquarium cleaner could be used to fight the coronavirus...

You seem to misunderstand.

You said "recent", I thought that meant new. And you said "evidence", not speculation. Have charges been pressed yet?

Trump THINKS he's taking it. They're probably giving him placebo. I don't believe for a minute that any doctor would give the President of the United States, who has a heart condition, an experimental drug that has been known to cause heart problems.

Its not experimental. Its a well known drug thats been around 60 years and has shown to be effective against Coronavirus as well as Malaria, and Lupus.

Your source is about in vitro (test tube) testing of a different virus in monkey cells. That is not evidence of efficacy with COVID-19.

There is testing being conducted on the efficacy of hydroxychloroquine on COVID-19. It is an experimental treatment.

As a Covid 19 prophylactic, it is.

Big Pharma has an agenda and there are reasons why a relatively cheap treatment is being fought so hard.

There is nothing stopping doctors from prescribing hydroxychloroquine. The president's doctor prescribed it for him, for example.

I understand very well. It is you, whom like always, makes false assumptions meanwhile ignoring facts.

Fact # 1. They were both democrats, and both of them had been long time democrat donors most/all of their lives. I wonder why would democrat voters/donors ever believe such fallacious claim that "Trump told us we could use aquarium cleaner to fight Coronavirus?..."

If the police is still investigating this as a homicide it is not because there is no evidence supporting the possibility of "homicide."

H omicide cops looking into death of man who drank fish tank cleaner ‘to ward off coronavirus’: report

Unless you are Phage and only then it does mean to you that homicide investigations are done because there is no evidence showing this could be a homicide...

Fact# 2. President Trump never said "chloroquine phosphate/aquarium cleaner" can be used to fight COVID-19... He mentioned hydroxychloroquine as a possible treatment after several doctors from several countries, including the U.S., stated they had successfully used hydroxychloroquine to fight COVID-19...

Here is what Phage. First show us proof that President Trump ever said chloroquine phosphate/aquarium cleaner can be used to fight Coronavirus...

Only after you have proven this can you then ascertain this woman was really following President Trump's advice...

So are you saying left-wing sources like Yahoo are lying when they post information like this? (even when that information is from other sources)

...
Arizona police are now conducting a homicide investigation into a woman who claimed she gave her husband fish tank cleaner after President Trump claimed the anti-malarial drug hydroxychloroquine was an effective treatment for coronavirus.

Wanda Lenius told NBC News last month that she and her husband Gary consumed fish tank cleaner because it contained a chemical that Trump suggested might be an effective prophylactic and treatment for coronavirus. The cocktail, which contained four teaspoons of fish tank cleaner mixed with soda water, put Wanda in the ICU and killed Gary. “My advice,” Wanda explained, is “don’t believe anything that the President says and his people because they don’t know what they’re talking about.”

The Washington Free Beacon, which first reported that Wanda was a “prolific” Democratic donor and that she had a troubling relationship with her husband that included a previous domestic assault charge, revealed Tuesday night that Mesa City Police Department is conducting a criminal investigation into the death of Gary, and requested recordings of the Free Beacon’s interviews with Wanda.

As this is an active investigation, I cannot go into any details at this time regarding the case,” homicide detective Teresa Van Galder told the Free Beacon. In an interview, Wanda Lenius told the outlet that her decision to drink the cleaner with her husband was “a spur of the moment thing,” and that they ingested “one teaspoon and some soda” each — at least four times the lethal limit.

news.yahoo.com...

Your claim reminds me of another case in which three children of various ages, and whom were brought into the U.S. under the "Syrian refugee program" were being accused of raping a little girl and the state attorney proclaimed none of it was true, when the only thing that the news got wrong was that those boys were Syrian.

You got to wonder what kind of "game" the "KNXV Staff/KNXV 13 action news" are playing when their article has ads calling to "Stop Republicans..."

You know, similar to how Wanda is now claiming "don't believe the POTUS and his staff because they don't know of what they talk about..." When President Trump and his staff never said "chloroquine phosphate/aquarium cleaner can be used to treat coronavirus..."

So are you saying left-wing sources like Yahoo are lying?

If they siad there is or was a homicide investigation, they are mistaken. Did they say that?

It was a month ago. Surely there would be more news about the investigation if there was one. From right-wing sources, of course.

Oh right, because some news sources/and officials wouldn't lie due to political bias, because they would have no beef with anything the President and his people would say?

Similar to how Wanda is continuing to claim the President and his people "don't know of what they talk about" when they never said "chloroquine phosphate/aquarium cleaner can be used to treat coronavirus?..." Which Wanda continues to claim President Trump and his people said... And of course, as a Democrat and probably a "Never-Trumper", Wanda wouldn't have any reasons for making such a false claim? Which you seem to think she is being honest, and she had no reason for murdering her husband.
